Prep Girls Hoops NC examines the standouts of the Greenfield-WCDS game.
Jordan Whitney (WCDS forward, 2023)
Sophomore forward Jordan Whitney was a beast on the boards for Wayne Country Day in this contest. When the Chargers were struggling to hit shots, she’d come up big with a few offensive rebound putbacks. Whitney has been a spark in a couple of games for the Chargers this year and has a lot of potential.
Serenity McNair (Greenfield guard, 2024)
Serenity McNair is a scoring machine for Greenfield especially when it comes to three point shooting. The freshman guard kept the Knights in the game during the second half thanks to her ability to create shots for herself and her teammates. She doesn’t turn the ball over and makes excellent reads as a point guard for this team. Her success will mean good things for Greenfield going forward.

Ja’Kea Brunson Ja’Kea Brunson 5'9" | PG Wayne Country Day | 2023 NC , who became a career 1,000-point scorer last month, was at it again in the big moments for Wayne Country Day. Although her numbers weren’t as torrid as the stretch she had at the beginning of the season, the sophomore guard made her presence felt in this one. Brunson is a three-level scorer and does it at an efficient rate which is why the Chargers are a dangerous team.
Victoria Coleman (Greenfield guard/forward, 2024)
A freshman you’ll be hearing a lot about over the next several months is Greenfield’s Victoria Coleman. She plays forward for this Knights team, but has guard skills from ball handling to shooting from the outside. She’s a mismatch nightmare for opposing teams because of her diverse skill set and is one to watch going forward. Coleman couldn’t miss in the second half against the Chargers and it kept her team alive for a while.
Kimora Cox Kimora Cox 5'5" | SG Wayne Country Day | 2022 NC (WCDS guard, 2022)
It was another excellent performance on the defensive end for 2022 prospect Kimora Cox Kimora Cox 5'5" | SG Wayne Country Day | 2022 NC of WCDS. She took the challenge of guarding Serenity McNair for most of the contest and while McNair got her, Cox made sure it wasn’t easy. The Chargers guard also hit some big shots down the stretch to keep the Knights at bay late in the game and she continues to be one of the top prospects in Wayne County.
