Given the difficulties involved with this season, the Miss Basketball award may be even more difficult than normal to determine. It seems like the right time to introduce some of the candidates for the award this season.

Morasha Wiggins Morasha Wiggins 6'0" | SF Kalamazoo Central | 2021 State #42 Nation MI is an elite basketball player for Kalamazoo Central. We’ll call her a shooting guard, but it’s tough to give her a single position. Prep Girls Hoops Michigan ranks her at number 2 in the state. Prep Girls Hoops has her ranked at number 42 in the country. Wiggins will be playing for North Carolina following her high school career.
We all knew that Wiggins was an elite talent when she came to high school, but she has certainly surpassed that. She has helped lead Michigan into an era of being one of the top states in the country for girls basketball talent.
Wiggins is a testament to where grit and toughness can take you. She lost most of last season to an injury. That would tear a lot of athletes down, but not Wiggins. She has battled back and become stronger because of it. Fittingly so, her game starts on the defensive end. Wiggins is a lockdown defender, but even better, she can shut an opponent down at 3 different positions. That brings us to her versatility. She’s a solid ball handler and good decision maker, which allows her to log minutes at the point guard spot. She can also attack the rim and score when playing off the ball as a 2 guard. She has the strength and toughness to be a top notch wing as well. Wiggins is a 3 level scorer and her game should transfer really nicely to the next level.
The Morasha Wiggins Morasha Wiggins 6'0" | SF Kalamazoo Central | 2021 State #42 Nation MI story may end up book worthy. She’s the type of star player that really would deserve an honor like being named Michigan’s Miss Basketball. Wiggins, with her skill and never give in approach, would be an excellent choice for the award in 2021.
