We are now 2 weeks into our season and plenty of teams and players are making strong impressions all over the state. Let’s catch up on all the latest news and notes.
<span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Top Performances:</strong></span>
2023 Forward <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="164386" first="Brianna" last="Byars"]</strong> is off to a hot start this season. She’s averaging 15 points and 5 rebounds per game and had a big game with 22 points against Paris. Her little sister, 2025 <strong>Ciara Byars</strong> is second on the team in scoring at 8.5 points per game.
2025 <strong>Leah Macy</strong> of Elizabethtown is having a huge season. She’s averaging 20 points and 15 rebounds through 5 games, all wins for the Lady Panthers.
2025 <strong>Zakiyah Johnson </strong>of Shelby County is having a very impressive season also. Johnson is averaging 24 points and 16 rebounds through 5 games.
2023 <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="164412" first="Anna" last="Kate Drakeford"]</strong> of Mercer County is having a strong start, averaging 16 points and helping the Lady Titans to a 2-1 start.
<span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Recruiting News:</strong></span>
Sophomore <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="164401" first="Kaela" last="Ballard"] </strong>earned an offer from Campbellsville-Harrodsburg this week. Ballard also announced a transfer from Southern to Portland Christian this week.
2023 <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="164392" first="Abby" last="Holtman"]</strong> earned a scholarship offer from Bellarmine this week. Her second D1 offer, joining Northern Kentucky on her list.
Bellarmine also offered 2022 <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="106144" first="Kennedy" last="Lee"]</strong>. Lee was previously offered by Niagara during the summer.
<span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Career Accomplishments:</strong></span>
Congratulations to Henderson County coach Jeff Haile on his 750th career win. A tremendous accomplishment for sure.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="88428" first="Braylee" last="McMath"] </strong>of Great Crossing went over the 1,000 career point mark this week. She’s signed to Christian Brothers University.
