Reychel Douglas Reychel Douglas 6'0" | SG Millbrook | 2023 State #41 Nation NC : The 6’0 guard, class of 2023, who plays for the Garner Flames organization (Millbrook high school) did what she does best this weekend; put on a show. She ran the floor, finished in traffic, caught and finished tough passes, put people on skates, and had fabulous finishes at the rim. She helped lead her team to the championship game where she finished with 15 points. She is off to a great AAU season catch her the rest of the summer.
Sarah Strong Sarah Strong 6'2" | PF Grace Christian | 2024 State NC : The 6’2 small forward, class of 2024, who plays for the Lady Strong organization (Fuquay-Varina high school) was another great performer this weekend. She used her size and skill set to help lead her team to the championship game. She showcased her ball handling abilities getting to the rim from the perimeter, was able to knock down a couple of outside shots, and protected the paint on the defensive end. She finished the weekend with a win in the championship game with an 18 point performance (her team scored 37 in total for the win). Catch her the rest of this summer on the AAU trail.
Laney Beale: The 5’9 point guard, class of 2022, who plays for the Carolina Elite organization (Chapel Hill high school) did what she does best this weekend; shoot the basketball. She did a good job controlling the tempo of the games this weekend, handling the ball well especially under pressure, and the ability to get into the paint, when she wasn’t knocking down the long ball. She showed off her leadership and coachability assets as well this weekend. Make sure to catch her the rest of the summer.
Ashanti Lynch Ashanti Lynch 5'8" | CG North Lenoir | 2022 State NC : The 5’7 guard, class of 2022, who plays for the Team Felton organization, (North Lenoir high school) displayed her hard work and skills all weekend. Showing her toughness and speed by finishing in transition and ability to get into the paint. She used her size and strength in the paint to finish through the contact and over defenders. Keep an eye on this one this summer, she had a great high school season which is going to carry over to her summer play.
Indya Nivar Indya Nivar 5'10" | SG Apex-Friendship | 2022 State #59 Nation NC : The 5’9 guard, class of 2022, who plays for the Garner Flames organization (Apex-Friendship high school) really was a team and tempo leader this weekend. She pushed it when it needed to be pushed, finishing in transition and through contact, and slowed it down and set up her offense when it wasn’t the time to run. She showed off her scoring abilities and defense skills for her team as well, which is what helped get her team to the championship game. Catch her and her team the rest of this summer.
(All players competing in LBI this weekend played hard and did their thing this weekend, everyone keep working hard and competing all summer!)
