2023 Rankings: Stock Risers Part II

The class of 2023 is loaded with players who are already capable of taking their talents to the next level. Here are some more players who have had some stock rising performances over the past year. [player_tooltip player_id="275970" first="Amari" last="Palmer"] | South Central Palmer has an amazing ability to fake out her opponents whether she is looking to take a side step for her shot or she is ready to drive around her opponents. Either way, she certainly knows how to sell the fake in order to show off her shot that she can swish from all over the court. These smart decisions also show her vision of the court as she knows when to pull up for a shot or take it all the way to the hoop. She is a tenacious defender grabbing steals to push up the court. [player_tooltip player_id="217759" first="Darrionna" last="Howard"] | Clayton Howard has had a busy season with basketball including receiving Division I offers already. She can play all over the court from being a main ball handler on her teams to driving the ball hard in the paint scoring against contact. She makes quick and smart decisions with the ball zipping in passes to her teammates or showing off her own shot from downtown. She is quick on defense closing out on her opponents and jumping into passing lanes. [player_tooltip player_id="285936" first="Kirsten" last="Watt"] | Asheville Watt plays even bigger than her stature shows jumping into passing lanes using her length to cause problems for her opponents on defense and blocking shots consistently. She is a tough finisher, too, taking the ball all the way to the hoop for some points, and she battles through contact well adjusting her body as she needs to in order to score. She does a great job protecting each possession using her body and footwork to throw off her defenders. [player_tooltip player_id="116909" first="Miya" last="Giles-Jones"] | Terry Sanford Giles-Jones (pictured above) is a very fun athlete to watch doing everything you want to see from a player. She can shoot from behind the three point line and body opponents in the paint for her points. She handles the ball well, and she shows a lot of patience when letting plays develop knowing that timing is important when making her moves. She does a great job getting her teammates involved throwing some nice passes their way for points from them. She is an aggressive defender keeping her head on the swivel causing problems for her opponents.
