Continue ReadingI was already pumped after the first 2 sessions at PBR Super 64 so once I get going, it’s on yet when you have talented players on multiple courts playing, keep in mind it doesn’t take me forever to realize what I’m looking at and even more importantly, “it’s not what you do, it’s who you do it against” I caught quite a mix, from a variety of states, in my 3rd session, I didn’t make the 8:30 start for obvious reasons that I forgot but anyway, here ya go
2022
Marta Konczalska-5’9 CG (B2B Elite Bluejays) Sunrise Christian Academy- KS
Kinczalaska is long and athletic, this is a profile many college coaches look at, so do I but what else does she bring to the table? She rebounds fiercely and she does it against taller players on both ends but she also has a nice jumper as well as a soft touch around the basket
Shandlee Meuller-5’6 CG (West Texas Shockers 17U) Stamford HS
Mueller attacks from just about every angle on the court and finishes strong but she also creates her shot under pressure to knock not only the midrange down but the long ball from very, very deep and she also saw the floor
Audrey Brewer-6’0 PF/C (West Texas Shockers 17U) Stamford HS
Brewer uses her size and power well, she battles for rebounds and loose balls and she finishes nicely in a variety of ways including an up and under which worked several times
Taylor Thomas-5’8 CG ( DC Queens WTX Blue) Canyon HS
Thomas not only creates her shot to attack and finish but also to shoot the jumper yet her “stop and pop” in transition wasn’t bad either so handling the ball in the open court wasn’t a problem, this comes in handy because she plays the passing lane and that led to baskets going the other way
2023
Alyssa Rodriguez-Trujillo (719 Tribe) Palmer HS-CO
Trujillo showed some great point guard skills like controlling the tempo and hitting the right person at the right time with the ball yet her poise under pressure handling the ball stood out as well as her long ball shooting
Aubrey Metzger-6’1 PF (Texas Platinum 16U Alexander) Little Elm HS
Metzger has taken her game up some levels and watching her just effortlessly block shots, yeah she’s long and athletic but her timing just did it for me, so did her rebounding but she also scored more ways and the defense has gotten better, outside the paint
2024
Ciara Miles-5’10 SG/SF (Lady Drive Nation CTX Killeen) Rockdale HS
Miles was a player another former Rockdale star, Frances King (Midwestern St) hipped me to at the #TJShowcase, and until today when I looked at the roster, I didn’t realize she was the same person that had made that tip sheet so that speaks volumes about her game and also shows I have no agenda when watching yet nevertheless her battling for rebounds on both ends can be attributed to her athleticism and desire but she also attacks the basket and finishes strongly
Briana Mckelvey-5’4 CG (K-low Elite) Bethlehem Catholic- PA
Mckelvey definitely can shoot it and with her extended range and that pull-up jumper, she mixed up that long with a solid midrange game yet she also can take defenders off the dribble, with either and finishes after contact
Emily Huxtable Emily Huxtable 5'6" | PG Rampart | 2024 State CO -5’6 PG (P.L.U.T.O. Prospects 16U) Rampart HS-CO
Huxtable did a job scoring multiple ways yet the multiple times I saw her shoot made me smile because she creates her shot smoothly and picks the right time to show that jumper yet if that wasn’t enough, her ability “catch and shoot’ definitely did it for me
Addison Harrison-6’1 SG/SF (ABA Red) Camas HS- WA
Harrison has a lot going for her because she’s over “the magic number”; that’s 6’0:if you haven’t been paying attention but you definitely need to pay attention to her as she has a nice first step to attack from everywhere and she finishes after contact but she also can face the basket and score, pretty good upside
2025
Miracle Brown-5’9 PG (B2B Bluejays)- KS
Brown did I a lot of things I enjoy seeing and it’s a Miracle that I closed the session out with her game because I was playing catch-up but her playing the passing lane being witnessed from afar had me change courts, then she showed the jumper as well as some acrobatic finishes
