<p class="p1">The July live period has officially begun, and the LBI Summer Showcase was a great way to kick off this month.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Here are some of the top ball handlers I saw on day 1 of the showcase.</p>
<p class="p1"><b><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/07/Laney-Beale-scaled-crop-1921x1261-1625690922.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-305598 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/07/Laney-Beale-scaled-crop-1921x1261-1625690922-300x197.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /></a>[player_tooltip player_id="295031" first="Laney" last="Beale"]</b> (FBC Carolina Elite Lyn, PG, 2022) continues to shine with her ball handling and patience letting plays develop.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She knows exactly when to make her cuts with and without the ball, and she has a nice shot to show off.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She even crashes the boards going after rebounds.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She can take these boards coast to coast even showing off some nice fakes along the way to get to the basket.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She does well finding open teammates as they are cutting to the basket.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She can certainly grab steals to take the other direction before her opponents have a chance to react.</p>
<p class="p1"><b>[player_tooltip player_id="254583" first="Nevaeh" last="Farmer"]</b> (Team Curry 16U UAA, PG, 2023) uses her ball handling to get to the basket whether she fakes out her opponents or uses spin moves.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She can score through contact, too, showing off some old fashioned three point plays.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Her moves to the basket cause her opponents to constantly foul her trying to stop her.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She even showed off her shot blocking ability.</p>

<p class="p1"><b>Addie Phipps</b> (Surry Storm, SG, 2023) showed off her range draining some from behind the arc.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She knows how to sell her fakes with her whole body to throw off her defender.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>On defense, she picks the pocket of her opponents.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She jumps into passing lanes grabbing the steals, and she pushes them right up the court to her teammates cutting to the basket.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She had a nice jump stop in transition showing off her midrange shooting ability, too.</p>
<p class="p1"><b><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/07/Tyler-Collins-FT-scaled-crop-1921x1261-1625691138.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-305602 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/07/Tyler-Collins-FT-scaled-crop-1921x1261-1625691138-300x197.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /></a>[player_tooltip player_id="252849" first="Tyler" last="Collins"]</b> (PSB Elite 16U, PG, 2024) has nice handles with the ball controlling the tempo of the game moving her defenders where she wants them to go.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She uses fakes to make her way around her opponents to get to the basket.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She shows off her IQ on defense knowing when to set her trap to prevent her opponents from scoring.</p>
<p class="p1"><b>[player_tooltip player_id="252847" first="Kaylee" last="Carson"]</b> (Carolina Flames 16U EYBL, SG, 2024, pictured above) did well moving without the ball finding the gaps on defense to show off her jumper.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She filled the lanes in transition catching passes to take to the hoop, and she did not shy away from contact.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She is patient when making her moves as she knows exactly when to make her cuts to the basket when handling the ball.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She set herself up for some nice three point shooting as well.</p>
