July is here and the travel season is in full effect. Here are the top players in the classes of 2024, 2025, and 2026 that I have seen.
Class of 2024
Jada Eads Jada Eads 5'6" | PG Lake Highland Prep | 2024 State FL (Wekiva HS / CFE 2023 Elite) 5’5 Guard
Want to see a fun player to watch? Check out Jada Eads Jada Eads 5'6" | PG Lake Highland Prep | 2024 State FL ! Scorer! Athlete! Lightning in a bottle! All things that come to mind after watching Eads play just a few minutes on the court. She has made her presence known on the court all spring/summer for CFE and immediately comes one of the top 2024 prospects in Florida. Her scoring ability is elite as she can score from all areas of the court in a variety of ways and is near impossible to stop in 1on1 situations.
Bri Rivera (Lake Highland Prep / Hoop Dreams Elite) 5’6 Guard
Rivera had a big Freshman campaign for Lake Highland Prep, helping them to a state championship and the # 1 ranking nationally. She is following that up with an excellent spring/summer for Hoop Dreams Elite. Rivera is one of the state’s top outside shooters who has deep range and a quick release. She has a superb skill set with excellent court vision, solid handle, a smooth stroke and is a selfless teammate. College coaches need to keep an eye on Rivera!
Class of 2025
Markeli Jones-Tynes Markeli Jones-Tynes 5'9" | PG Westminster Academy | 2025 State FL (Calvary Christian Academy / GT Queens) 5’10
Can you say hooper? Jones-Tynes is one in every sense of the word. She has had a huge spring/summer suiting up for both GT Queens and FGB and jumping onto the national scene, picking up the attention of a number of the nation’s top college programs. She is a 5’10 scoring point guard who has a developed skill set with a variety of ways she can pick apart opposing defenses. She plays hard, with infectious energy, and does it all with a smile on her face! Simply put, I love Jones-Tynes game and have enjoyed seeing her play live on a bigger stage versus bigger, stronger, more talented players because as the competition has risen, so has her game.
Jazmine Jones (Attucks Middle School / Hollywood Eagles) 5’3 Guard
Jazmine Jones is dangerous! Throughout the summer, the Hollywood Eagles have had her play both 8th grade and 17U. At each level, you get to see different facets of her game. At the 8th grade level, it is obvious that her athleticism, strength, skill set and basketball IQ are far superior to her teammates and opponents. At the 17U level, she is an impactful offensive and defensive player despite being 3-4 years younger than her opponents. Jones strongest part of her game is on the offensive end of the floor with the ball in her hands. She is dangerous off the dribble with multiple combination moves and can put it in the basket at the rim as well as from the 3-point line. I expect Jones to be a national prospect, coveted by the nation’s top colleges in the next few years.
Class of 2026
Taniyah Davis Taniyah Davis 5'8" | PG American Heritage | 2026 State FL (Driftwood MS / Florida Lady Huskies) 5’9 Wing
Davis is one of the nation’s top young players and has an advanced skill set for such a young player. Often when evaluating players that are still in middle school, you evaluate their potential not their production. With Davis, that is simply not the case as she is a 5’9 wing who is heading into the 8th grade, and she is consistently productive on the offensive side of the ball every game. When you look at the BCS level of play in the major power 5 components – you are seeing big, long, athletic, versatile wing players that are 5’10-6’2. This is Taniyah Davis Taniyah Davis 5'8" | PG American Heritage | 2026 State FL – remember the name and continue to watch as I expect her to continue to add to her offensive skillset!
Ashley Martinez Ashley Martinez 5'4" | SG Somerset Silver Palms Academy | 2026 State FL (Somerset Silver Palms / Miami Impact) 5’7 Guard
Martinez might be Florida’s top outside shooter despite being a 7th grader. She had a huge season for Somerset Silver Palms, playing varsity as a 7th grader, knocking down 3+ 3-pointers per game while shooting 36% from behind the arc. She has continued to put her shooting ability on display for the Impact as her range is anywhere once she crosses half court. Her stroke is smooth and her release is quick and opposing teams need to close her out well beyond the 3-point arc!
