Hughes uses her position in the post to see the floor well and know exactly where she can move to be an asset on the court. She knows exactly where to slide and seal off her opponents to get an entry pass, and she finds her opponents to box out each time a shot goes up to grab a rebound. She does a great job passing and relocating to make sure she can get another chance with the ball. She’s a tough defender, too, knocking the ball away from her opponents with ease.
Sion Murrain | Asheboro
Murrain uses her height to wreak havoc on defense. She causes deflections, and she certainly knows how to block shots. On offense, she is patient when letting plays develop knowing when to make her move and seal off her opponents. She is aggressive going after rebounds, and she knows how to push the ball up the court with ease to score in transition.
Kamryn Snyder Kamryn Snyder 6'1" | PF Northwest Guilford | 2024 NC | Northwest Guilford
Snyder (pictured above) does great job clogging the paint making it difficult for opponents to score against her. Her length makes it easy for her to block shots and pick the pocket of anyone trying to drive past her. She’s an efficient scorer finishing at the rim, and she uses offensive rebounds to score on second chance opportunities.
Sheree Gidney Sheree Gidney 5'10" | PF Hickory Ridge | 2024 State NC | Hickory Ridge
Gidney is dominant in the paint sealing off her opponents to get the entry pass and score. She does a great job fighting for rebounds, and she sees the floor well finding her open teammates for passes as well. She’s agile with the ball knowing how to make her way to the block pushing her opponents where she wants them to go. She’s an aggressive rebounder, too, knowing how to follow shots to gain possession.
