Lincoln Christian Scrimmages: Part 3 – Mannford

Thanks to Coach Reed at Mannford for getting me a roster. I am excited to write about this very good squad that could definitely make some noise in 4A basketball this season. I definitely look forward to seeing them again soon. Here is a look at some of the standout players from the Lincoln Christian Scrimmages last weekend. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="241012" first="Isabella" last="Pehrson"] | 6-0 CG | 2024 | <a href="https://x.com/bella_pehrson">@bella_pehrson</a></strong> Our No. 10-ranked player in the class of 2024 has gotten taller since the last rankings and now stands out even more as an extremely tall and long guard at a 4A school. It’s just not something you see that often. Add to the fact that she is tall and long that she can absolutely fill it up from long range and you begin to see why she is so high in the rankings in a very, very good recruiting class. Pehrson is six feet tall and moves very, very well, thus her ability to play guard. She goes hard all game long and defends very well. Her height allows her to defend positions one through five and she is an enormous asset for a school like Mannford. Pehrson is one coaches will want to get a look at for the diversity of her play and her willingness to defend. <strong>Adalynn Tierney | 5-10 G/F | 2024 | <a href="https://x.com/AdalynnTierney">@AdalynnTierney</a></strong> I had seen Adalynn play before on the PGH Circuit and getting a chance to see her play a half year or so later was a revelation. Tierney is a strong player who is incredibly tough and goes hard all game long. She goes hard to the rim and can finish with either hand, though I think her left may be preferred, but as we all know - a left-handed finisher can really throw a defender off. She finishes consistently at the rim and hits her free throws after drawing contact. Adlalynn is a heady player who is a huge asset for this team and, just like Pehrson, has the flexibility needed on a smaller school squad to really spread the floor and do some damage. She is another reason that I say Mannford could do big things this season if all goes well. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="261740" first="Kylie" last="Hewitt"] | 5-10 F | 2023 | <a href="https://x.com/KylieHewitt2023">@KylieHewitt2023</a></strong> Hewitt is a grinder inside who is extremely tough. She battles hard down low for both buckets and rebounds. She defends with the same toughness and is an integral part of what Mannford does on both ends of the floor. After being fouled, she hit several free throws with a purity that shows she wasn’t just a "big" shooting free throws. After a little more research it looks like she can definitely shoot it and regularly makes three’s for both her club team and her school. Kylie is a junior that you’re going to want to go get a look at. She is a tough, hard-nosed player who can handle the ball and score it in a variety of ways. Hewitt is one you’re going to want to keep an eye on - as well as this entire team! &nbsp;
