One of those tournaments was the She Got Next Christmas Classic at Aiken High School. Teams from South Carolina and Georgia took part with one of the Peach State teams being the defending 2A GHSA state champions T.W. Josey.
Prep Girls Hoops made it out to Aiken for the final day of the event. There are lots of freshmen and eighth graders who have the talents of seniors or juniors and many of them were present at the Green Hornets’ nest.
Trinity Jones Trinity Jones 5'7" | PG Desert Vista | 2025 State AZ – 2025 – Mauldin HS – At 8-5, first-year coach Angel McGowan’s Mavericks have already eclipsed last season’s win total when Mauldin finished a not-so-memorable 6-12. Jones, a transfer from Greenville, has given Mauldin quite the boost. Jones displays impressive handles, she will find pathways to the basket. As she can certainly 3-pointers, she will pass up treys to attack defenses and get to the cup. Jones is skilled at shooting from long range or from the midrange game as well. Jones led all scorers not only for the Mavericks, but for the game on Wednesday afternoon against host school Aiken with 16 points in a hard-fought 37-36 victory.
Delilah Soltys Delilah Soltys 5'11" | PG Mauldin | 2025 State SC – 2025 – Mauldin HS – Soltys is also in her first season sporting Mavericks orange and brown, but she transferred from Hillcrest Middle School en route to the Mavericks. Soltys will find driving lanes to the rim, but will also shoot and hit 3-point attempts. She too has a knack for taking care of the ball and limiting turnovers. Defensively, she can deflect passes and get out in transition. Soltys is not afraid to absorb contact and is already establishing herself as a leader of the team. She scored nine points in the victory over the host Green Hornets of Aiken.
Zion Prioleau Zion Prioleau 5'6" | SG Timberland | 2026 State SC – 2026 – Timberland HS – Wolves fans should make it a priority to know who Prioleau is because coach Allen Gethers is making it a priority to ensure she remains a centerpiece of Timberland’s team. She came off the bench in the Wolves’ Wednesday late afternoon game vs. Georgia-based Hephzibah and made the most of her minutes. Prioleau would score 17 points – tied for the lead among all Wolves point-getters that game. Out of those 17 that she tallied, 11 of those occurred in the second half of play. She also stayed out of foul trouble as she had only two personals called against her for the game.
China Greene China Greene 5'3" | PG Timberland | 2026 State SC – 2026 – Timberland HS – Eight is great at the Timberland girls basketball program. When one talks about head coach Allen Gethers’ Wolves, one central point of conversation will be its talented 2026 class. Greene constantly stays ready as a defender and that can result in her collecting steals. She moves the ball well, contributing to the flow of the Wolves’ offense and will shoot and make her shots from long range. Greene also finished with 17 points in Timberland’s 77-61 win over Hephzibah, but unlike Prioleau’s 17, Greene scored 11 of her 17 points in the first half of competition.
