Top Freshmen? What We Know So Far
Many of the 2025 players have gotten into starting lineups and a few have taken leadership roles on their teams. Here are some that we think have made an impact in their first high school season.
[player_tooltip player_id="239477" first="Princess" last="Moody"] - 5’6" - Point Guard - Bishop McNamara Princess has been logging major minutes with multiple starts on one of the nations top teams. She makes great decisions at the point and plays at an uptempo pace getting her team in transition quickly or letting them start their offence early in the shot clock. [player_tooltip player_id="363313" first="Marshea" last="Fisher"] - 5’6" - Guard - Holy Cross Marshea is a very good and active perimeter defender. She is disruptive for opposing guards and is a good finisher at the basket. [player_tooltip player_id="363330" first="Deniya" last="Prawl"] - 6’0" - Wing - National Christian Academy Prawl was a surprise on the scene and the biggest stock riser in the class being previously unranked to number one consideration. She has length and skill to play any of the perimeter positions. She has a soft touch around the basket and three range. She should be a household name in the DMV for the next few years. [player_tooltip player_id="239480" first="London" last="Liley"] - 5’10" - Wing - Maret When watching [player_tooltip player_id="239480" first="London" last="Liley"] then seeing "freshman" next to her name it makes you do a double take. Nothing about her says freshman as she has the maturity in her game of an upperclassman. She attacks gaps well showing patience and has good change of direction counter moves in traffic. She has a nice body and finishes well after contact. [player_tooltip player_id="239390" first="Caliyah" last="DeVillasee"] - 5’6" - Point Guard - Good Counsel Caliyah showed a lot of talent in middle school and has made a good transition in the WCAC. She’s showing a lot of control and disipline not rushing or trying to force things. She has good vision and is making good decisions on the fast break. [player_tooltip player_id="239434" first="Amori" last="Jarrett"] - 5’10" - Guard - Pikesville Jarrett has the complete package and may possibly be the best player in the class. Seeing her go head to head with the other top players could settle the debate although we may not see that until the spring/summer season. She has the size, speed and skill to be a power 5 impact player. [player_tooltip player_id="363322" first="Kaliyah" last="Murphy"] - 6’0" - Forward - Elizabeth Seaton Murphy has a solid body and is strong and physical inside. She is a good finisher and plays taller than her listed six feet height. [player_tooltip player_id="303136" first="Erin" last="Miller"] - 6’3" - Post - Forest Park Erin has had college post size since the 7th grade. She is on pace to be one of the regions dominant post players as players matriculate out of high school. She may have another inch or two of growing to do which would have her on the national radar.
