I’m covering mostly the younger ages at The Exclusive, and to say I left pleased on Friday would be an understatement yet I was even more pleased after Saturday’s games and here’s why
Jill Twiehaus-5’8 SG (Jenks HS) Oklahoma Swift 2024 Mathurin
Twiehaus is so smooth on the offensive end and one of the main reasons I enjoy watching her is she understands how to not only create her shot but when to take it and simple things like that turn into big things at the next level. She’s long and athletic and her wingspan makes her look taller, especially when she’s dropping the jumper yet off the dribble, she can elevate to finish as well
Jaelyn Choi-5’6 PG- Metro Stars 2024 MN
Choi has been one of the most entertaining guards at the event that I’ve seen and trust me, that’s saying a mouthful yet when you can set the defender up and find ways to put the ball in the basket, either “just doing it” yourself, ala floater or jumper. or someone else by threading the needle with pinpoint passes and I have to use this, the floater is like a butterfly and those passes are definitely stinging like a bee
Addison Price-5’4 SG (Tahlequah HS) Oklahoma Swift 2024-Scarborough/Gaulden
Price reminded me of watching Bob Barker with my grandmother because The Price Was Right was a hit, well this Price showed she could also hit it from a variety of ways like off the dribble, deceptive first step gets her to the rim with ease, yet that pull-up jumper, including the “stop and pop” in transition was also nice but to add even more, her court vision is also nice
Mikayla Pilley-5’10 SG (Kickapoo HS) Oklahoma Swift 2025
Pilley brought a dilly of offensive skills to impress me, in fact, I even dropped the #D1Lock on her, and here’s why. She’s a big guard that can shoot, I love that profile but more importantly, so do college coaches yet here’s more, she scores off the dribble using very good body control, and her off-balance backward finish dropped the mic as I dropped my book, yes I see everything, including her look-off to score off the dribble
Kaylie Carr- 5’8 PG ( MT White HS) Team Stay Ready 2024 [2025]
Carrdefintely had me in the passenger seat as I was mesmerized by what I was seeing. I love players that are not only athletic yet can do things instinctively and her explosive first step is just natural but wait, her acrobatic finishes will only get better, trust me so I also factor in her ability to see the floor, both in the set and in transition and it also helps when you have a jumper. She reacts well, plays the same no matter what the score is, trust me COLLEGE COACHES LOVE THAT, and peep this, her upside is scary
Amelia Fernandez-5’3 PG (Lincoln MS IL) Full Package 2026 Black
Fernandez falls into my “the game starts at the 1” saying and although cute remarks have come at me saying “it starts at the tip” here’s a tip, this young lady here has not only next level written all over her yet with her ability right now, her not even in high school and what she brings to the table, wait till the table gets set. Her”poise under pressure” as well as handling the ball and seeing the floor under that same pressure so her crossover, her no-look passes as well as scoring both off the dribble and the jumper had me tweet “REMEMBER HER NAME”
