With high school teams practicing, team camps, and other events taking place, there is a ton of basketball going on. Yesterday we looked at some players that seem to be heating up in June. In Part 2, we’ll look at some more players that have been standing out this month.
Christen Banks Christen Banks 5'8" | CG Southfield A&T | 2025 State MI (2025, PG, Southfield A&T)
If you saw Banks play on the PGH Circuit this spring, seeing her name here will come as no surprise. She’s continued her elite play in the month of June and is driving home the point that she can be an elite perimeter defender. Banks is making plenty of plays off the bounce as well.
Faith Jungwirth Faith Jungwirth 6'0" | SF Lansing Catholic | 2024 State MI (2024, SF, Okemos)
If you’ve followed me for a bit, you probably know that I’m very on Jungwirth as a player and a prospect. She’s driving home that belief here in June. Jungwirth has a dangerous 2 dribble drive and can be a force under the rim with her strength and rebounding.
Ella Richter (2024, SG, Lawton)
Here’s a courtesy heads up – She’s not just a softball star! Richter has heated up this June and is showing that she’s a player to watch as we move closer to high school season. There have been whispers of some extremely high level shooting coming from Richter.
Kara Straub (2026, PF, Grass Lake)
Straub is an exciting prospect that’s ready to step into high school basketball. She turned heads in Memphis this June, with a lot of whispers about her outstanding versatility at the forward position. Straub is rapidly improving her ball handling and can score facing the rim as well as with her back to the basket.
Janae Tyler Janae Tyler 5'11" | C Holt | 2023 State MI (2023, C, Holt)
Tyler is sending a message loud and clear at the UA Next Future 60. Her ability to challenge shots, protect the rim amd dominate the paint defensively has always been pretty obvious. Tyler is now flaunting a much improved jumper with range extending out to the arc. Her upside has her moving up a lot of prospect rankings in due time.
