Samantha Mcdonald Samantha Mcdonald 5'6" | C Dubuque Senior Highschool | 2023 IA
The Dubuque native is an extremley active wing who does damage in the paint. Her energy on defense leads to live-ball turnovers, which lead to easy points in transition. Her ability to create havoc is a valuable tool to help teams get back into games when her team is trailing and to make the opposition lead guards uncomfortable.
Laney Pilcher
From watching Pilcher play this summer, I loved her positional versatility. Although she’s slightly undersized, she does a good job defending kids who are taller than her. Pilcher also does an excellent job rebounding and starting transition offense for her team. I think she’s very useful for any team she’s on because of all the little things Pilcher brings to help her team win.
The Xavier guard has an excellent-looking jump shot, with the results to back it up. She constantly finds open pockets of space that she utilizes to pick apart her opposition. She has a good feel for the game that helps her know when to attack closeouts or get to her mid-range game. Her jumper is something teams always have to plan for because she can hurt teams in a hurry. The more I saw the lefty play, the more I appreciated her pragmatic approach to the game.
Jenna Twedt Jenna Twedt 5'8" | SG Benton | 2023 State IA
Twedt is a solid wing who can score from all three levels. The junior can score off the catch or the dribble and does a great job being a threat at all times. Her passing ability is also advanced. She sees the floor well and is decisive when she whips the ball around the court. She may not be the quickest kid on the floor, but she knows how to move her defender.
Adalyn Long
The 2026 guard is physically strong. It shows when she shoots the ball. She has an effortless-looking jumper that finds the net more often than it doesn’t. She does an excellent job moving without the ball to find shooting pockets. When I saw her play in Appleton and Minnesota, she played well and made a lot of shots. She has plenty of room to improve as she enters high school.
