Almost every young basketball player starts with the dream of playing in the WNBA or playing somewhere professionally. So that leaves an interesting question – Of all the talent in the city of Detroit, which 10 players would you consider the most likely to play in the WNBA someday. Here’s my top 10! Jefferson has a lot of the tools needed to be a special point guard. She has a nose for the ball and seems to always find it and have an influence as to what happens to it. Jefferson can go from 1-100 in no time on the dribble drive.

The older of the 2 Jefferson’s, Samyiah has the strength and grit needed to make the steps up the basketball ladder. She’s dangerous on the dribble drive to her right and can make plays and score in traffic.

Sanders is a terrific talent. Not many players can relentlessly defend the entire length of the floor the way that she does. Defense travels, so Sanders has a place at a higher level of basketball.

Anderson is improving at a rapid rate and showed some incredibly high upside with the UTS Lady Elite this summer. She’s a playmaking guard that might be unmatched with leg strength and smoothness on the basketball court.

Goudy is so tough on opposing defense when she catches steam on her way to the rim with the ball. She can attack either side of the floor and can finish with both power and touch.

Alston is a winner through and through, and that’s obviously a heavily prized trait on every level of the game. She’s a fleet footed guard that is so steady with the basketball. In fact, her turnover numbers are staggeringly low.

Billups has the versatility needed to play at a much higher level than high school. Her combination of pure power in the paint and ball skills on the perimeter make her a special talent. Billups has nice touch on the ball as well.

Woods attacks the rim like a savvy veteran. The ability to create her own good looks at the rim and finish with a physical style could take her a long ways in the game of basketball. Woods has an attacking nature with the ball that many could back up the way that she does.

Hagemann stepped into high school with next level court vision and ability to hit open teammates with precision passes. She makes the tough pass look easy. Hagemann is a terrific ball handler that can be a one person pressure breaker.
