With another end to a summer ball season have arrived I present to you my all-Kansas Summer Ball 2023 Team. It is composed only of players that I saw play live. Growing a couple over last year to 18 players this team of mine requires to separate articles to give all included the space they need. My stops to see action in person included the MAYB Hall of Fame Exposure and Summer Kickoff events Wichita, the Hutchinson Community College team camp, and the three wildly successful Prep Girls Hoops Circuit events in Kansas City, MO, and Wichita. A limitation on inclusiveness of players and clubs is readily apparent. More than even last summer, many clubs and players chose to compete primarily outside the state. Some who did compete in state but I did not happen to be where they were playing. Other players did attend events where I was but unfortunately I did not get as quality look at them as I would have liked. This part 1 is composed of guards through wings and small forwards. Part 2 will share the combo guards/small forwards and bigs.

[player_tooltip player_id='156294' first='Chloe' last='Clevenger'], 5'6", McPherson, Lady Prospects 17U - At the MAYB Summer Kickoff what I saw was the same game every game. Effort, never takes a play off, hustles, defends, creates, and is a perimeter threat. Clevenger was the United World Games this summer. Hall of Fame Showcase - With her club team off this weekend Clevenger jumped in for the weekend. On the finish she showed an ability to show the ball, score the reverse layup, and use the glass well. She is able to convert with either hand. Second summer on the team.

[player_tooltip player_id='227853' first='Landon' last='Forbes'], 5'6", Bishop Carroll, SSA Gameball Basketball 17U - Forbes's game has exploded over the summer and is generating NJCAA Division I and NCAA D II interest. Speedy, quick with the ball, is a legitimate scoring threat at all three levels, and has sharp transition and half court vision.

[player_tooltip player_id='227691' first='Lillie' last='Veer'], 5'7", Berean Academy, KS Dream Team - Veer showed off her leadership ability and strong game in sub-state games I saw and she continued to stand out against strong competition at the April MAYB Hall of Fame Exposure event. Veer has long had NAIA interest. Coming off a loss in Kansas' class 2A championship Veer did a solid job of showing her diverse game. Not only did she show she can split defenders but also can absorb contact on the finish. Veer created well for others. A great moment was a wrap around dish off the bounce to a teammate on the opposite block.

[player_tooltip player_id='335936' first='Delanie' last='Tally'], 5'8", Louisburg - Louisburg played as a team at the MAYB Summer Kickoff in June and it was my first time ever seeing them. She showed quick hands, the ability to handle with speed, and to shoot the three ball well in flow. I really like how well Tally slides into space after she passes to set up a shot off the return pass.

[player_tooltip player_id='450351' first='Emilee' last='Hollinger'], 5'8", Eisenhower, KYD - I saw Hollinger playing with her high school and club team this summer. Hollinger has enough handles to create shots and length to help her finish them. She also brings athleticism and outside shooting.

[player_tooltip player_id='450393' first='Sophia' last='Albertini'], 5'5", St. Paul - Albertini was included with a group of southeast Kansas 2023s to watch. Having a solid motor, strength to push the ball down the floor, and perimeter shooting ability should help her be a major contributor to Indians's success.

[player_tooltip player_id='450394' first='Libby' last='Jackson'], 5'6", Hutchinson - While I have seen glimpses of Jackson at Hutchinson home games I finally got a solid look at the HCC team camp. Jackson has solid transition speed and can score the challenged layup on either side. She also stands out with her good open court defensive quickness.
