Amani Jenkins Amani Jenkins 6'2" | C Johnston | 2025 State IA
The 6-foot-2 Des Moines North product excelled in every area of the floor. She displayed her advanced pivot game in the post and finished with both hands around the basket. Jenkins also showed her ability to step out and knock down perimeter jumpers. Most of the things she did in the paint offensively were advanced. Defensively, Jenkins moved laterally well and was excellent at defending the area around the basket. I think she created the most problems for opposing teams at the event.
Jayla Williams Jayla Williams 5'10" | CG Ankeny | 2026 State IA
The incoming freshman exudes absurd amounts of confidence when she has the ball. Whenever she got the ball in her hands, it felt like she would make something positive happen, and she did more often than not. Williams is quick and uses her acceleration to beat her initial defender in the halfcourt, and she does an excellent job using her high-end speed to attack defenses before they get set. When she gets to run and attack in transition, she displays her ability to be creative around the basket and create angles that don’t seem to exist until she finds them. She’ll be fun to watch this high school season.
Laynee Hogan Laynee Hogan 5'9" | PG East Buchanan | 2025 State IA
The East Buchanan guard was one of the best finishers in traffic at Kingdom Hoops . Hogan did a good job playing through contact and finishing plays. She’s a strong guard who defenders must stay in front of if they want to keep her out of the paint. Hogan utilizes hesitation dribbles to attack her defender’s hip and powers through contact. The rising sophomore did positive things on both ends of the floor and showed her all-around game.

The 5-foot-10 incoming freshman showed her intriguing skillset to everyone in attendance on Saturday. She has a lot of ability, which excites me because she understands how to use her unique skillset to make plays. For instance, she is a strong and athletic kid, and when I watch her attack the basket, that’s easy to see. She has an outstanding reverse pivot move that creates space for her to finish around the basket, and she’s strong enough to finish through contact. Her shooting is solid, but there’s room for improvement. She made a believer out of me on Saturday.
