Continue ReadingLaynee Hogan Laynee Hogan 5’9″ | PG East Buchanan | 2025 State IA was the definition of a leader during the Top 250 camp. Showing out as a great ball handler under pressure, and shot maker, all while making great choices in the passing game. Hogan looks to make a big impact for her sophomore season at East Buchanan High School this upcoming winter. Being able to shoot from anywhere on the floor is something Laynee knows she is good at while also trying to find her teammates consistently with her head up no matter where she is on the floor. She was a gritty defender all afternoon with her on-ball pressure, while leading her team to several wins. It will be fun to watch this all transfer into high school ball as her team tries to make a big state splash in the 22′-23′ season.
Highlights
Amani Jenkins Amani Jenkins 6’2″ | C Johnston | 2025 State IA comes off of a great freshman year with Des Moines North High School where she averaged 14 PPG, 8.2 RPG and leading her team to a 16-7 overall record. Amani is a hard working post player who has very good footwork and can finish through contact. She has a solid, consistent mid range jumper that she uses to get the defense off balance before she goes to the hoop. It is a good balance in her attack on the offensive side of the ball. Jenkins will return this winter to a Polar Bears team who has 3 of 5 starters coming back, along with some light experience off the bench. As Amani and her teammates continue to play, I can see them getting better and better. If they don’t settle and really push each other, they will be able to go all the way this 22′-23′ season and win it all.

Elizabeth was the best off guard I saw all day, being able to the play the 1-4 on the floor at any moment, she was a problem offensively and defensively for her competition. You can tell that Puot is very comfortable around the three point line but still didn’t settle when it came down to it. She would attack and finish with ease when the defender would jump, while shooting if the defender stayed down. She keeps it simple and efficient. Everything a coach loves to see. As a junior Elizabeth scored 11.4 PPG on 43.7% shooting, 41.6% from three, also while stacking up 7.9 RPG, and 1.3 APG for the Des Moines North Polar Bears. Starting with Amani Jenkins Amani Jenkins 6’2″ | C Johnston | 2025 State IA , and Nyla Seay Nyla Seay PG Ankeny Centennial | 2023 State IA this north team is stacked. They should be a dominate team in and out of conference and trouble for every team they match up with this winter season. With a great post presence, solid but efficient perimeter, and smart PG, if the Polar Bears put it together they will end up as state champs.
