Brooke Meeks Brooke Meeks 5'11" | SG Arvada West | 2023 State CO – Arvada West
Meeks has been a steady presence with Arvada West, providing consistency along the perimeter to start the season. The Wartburg basketball commit has been off to a steady beginning posting 6.8 points, 5.5 assists, 4.8 rebounds, and 3 steals per game. The combo guard plays a key role orchestrating BLOB and SLOB plays. Meeks does a great job facilitating plays for cutters, largely within the flow of the offense. At roughly 5’11, Meeks possesses positional versatility on both ends. Meeks is more than capable drilling perimeter jump shots through the contest, partly thanks to her plus height.
Kenlee Durrill Kenlee Durrill 5'10" | PG Flatirons Academy | 2023 State CO – Flatirons Academy
Durrill has yet again proven her playmaking upside in an undefeated 7-0 start with Flatirons Academy. The point guard has kicked off the season with 17.1 points, 5.9 assists, 3.1 rebounds, and 3.1 steals per game while contributing 65% of her field goal attempts. Committing to Pacific, Durrill is a composed playmaker who rarely rushes decisions. The guard plays with purpose in the halfcourt, working to set up rollers and weak side shotmakers. Similar to Meeks, Durrill is fairly tall for a primary ballhandler at 5’10, creating many opportunities on the defensive side. Simply put, Durrill is often a step ahead of the opponents.
Trinity Hafey – Fruita Monument
Hafey deserves praise for her role with Fruita Monument’s dominant 7-2 start. The point guard has plenty of vision at the guard position, proving selfless setting up her teammates. The senior guard has a played a valuble role finding teammates for easy looks while mitigating her turnovers. Among the top 10 seniors in assists per game, Hafey boasts the highest assist to turnover ratio at 2.77 A:TO. She brings composure within the halfcourt, proving dependable hitting corner shooters on the weak side. Hafey is more than adept hitting backdoor cutters through tight windows from those strong side corners. Although way out on the western slope, Hafey is undoubtably one of those cerebral playmakers every team wants. Throughout the start of the season, Hafey has posted 3.3 points, 4.5 assists, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game.
Megan Derby – Eagle Ridge Academy
Derby has displayed high volume as a passer, staying poised at all times to set up her teammates. The senior guard does the fundamentals to a tee. Utilizing the offhand to ward away point of atack defenders and keeping her eyes up with the ball. Another key reason for her 6.9 assists per game resides from her willingness to make passes with either hand. To start the season for Eagle Ridge Academy, Derby has posted 7.3 points, 6.9 assists, and 8.4 rebounds per game. Athough playing a range of small programs, Derby has generated an absurd 13.3 steals per game. As 2023 ramps up, 6-2 Eagle Ridge will be battling against some tricky opponents.
