So, I have to admit that I am binging podcasts on the Wild West. This time period is unique in history compared to other countries and is one of the most romanticized part of our history. It is a time when a person was both outlaw and lawman, hero and villain, and a mixture of myth and fact. While there were some famous individuals of the West- think John Wesley Hardin or Wild Bill Hickock, many of the legends that stay with us today are famous duos: Wyatt Earp and Doc Holiday, Butch and Sundance, and Frank and Jesse James. These duos struck terror in their foes, just like these four duos in the SVL are striking terror around the state.

Most Feared Duo: Carman Ainsworth

Armoni Strosser and a pylon would make a list for the state, let alone the SVL; sad thing for the SVL, CA has more than a pylon as a side kick. The senior pair of Strosser and Deandra Smith (DeDe) are the perfect complement of big and wing. Good luck stopping Strosser, a kid that grabs every rebound on both sides of the court and is immovable on the block; people don't realize just how good of an athlete she is until you guard her. DeDe is a relentless attacker on both side of the ball.

Nightmare Duo: Grand Blanc

While the duo that beat them out is all about strength, the GB group is a tandem that melds finesse with a killer edge. Both [player_tooltip player_id='417883' first='Chelsea' last='Bishop'] and [player_tooltip player_id='190720' first='Jada' last='McCree'] are attacking guards that will kill teams with drive or drop threes on sagging defense. Both are intense onball defenders that make it hard for opposing teams to run offense. These are two kids that have been killing it out varsity for four years.

Dynamic Duo: Flint Powers

Flint Powers boasts a pair of senior guards that can kill you a variety of ways. Everything starts with the multi-talented [player_tooltip player_id='189298' first='Alexcis' last='Parker']. Parker is a kid that can hurt you from three, off the bounce, or in the block; plus, she gets to the free throw line several times a game. She might be the most complete player north of Flint. [player_tooltip player_id='415930' first='Makenna' last='Pobocik'] is a kid that is peaking at the right time in her career. She makes it impossible to double the posts with a quick release and a willingness to attack closeouts. Both are solid defenders.

Young Guns: Midland

I had to give a shout out to a young group of players. The sophomore pair of [player_tooltip player_id='424147' first='Payton' last='Palmer'] and Emily Terburgh are a perfect complement of finesse and power. Palmer is a deadly shooter that will bust zones with ease. Terburgh is a kid that is just relentless and has a solid back to the basket game. They might not be getting the notoriety now, but they will be the top dogs in a couple of years.
