2025 guard Ava Fulkerson Ava Fulkerson 5’7″ | PG Saint Gertrude | 2025 State VA is a name to watch this spring/summer. She is an intelligent basketball player, a good defender, and a good shooter. I like Ava’s game, and this season her great play was overshadowed because she played with the state’s leading scorer Erin Woodson Erin Woodson 5’11” | SG Saint Gertrude HS | 2023 State VA . Ava’s game will be displayed more this AAU season, and she will be a riser playing for Elevate Elite Richmond.
Highlights
Ava Limcaoco Ava Limcaoco 5’2″ | PG Paul VI | 2025 State VA didn’t play much on a talented PVI team, so people forget how good she is. Ava is always one of the smallest guards on the court, but she is fearless in getting to the rim and is a skilled ball handler and shooter. Ava will get a chance to show her abilities off for fairfax stars, and hopefully, she will improve and get a more significant role next season.
Kayla Washington Kayla Washington 5’10” | SF Bishop Ireton | 2025 State VA had a good year for Bishop Ireton, but I think she is better than what she showed. Bishop Ireton is a team loaded with talent, and even though they dealt with many injuries, I think it hurt any continuity as a team. Kayla is a skilled scorer and a great shooter. Her shot selection at time needs work, but I think the playing time shell get this AAU season will help strengthen that. She will put up big numbers playing on Elevate Elite.
As good as Aden Clark Aden Clark 5’7″ | PG State Line Rush | 2025 State VA is, more people need to see her play. Part of the fact is that she’s homeschooled playing for state line rush. But she is a fantastic basketball player and one of the best players in southwest VA. She is a skilled scorer and shooter and will get more exposure playing on impact CVA.
Based on raw talent, Carly Sweazie Carly Sweazie 5’6″ | PG Bishop O’ Connell HS | 2026 State VA is one of the best 2026 hoopers in Virginia. She is quick and has a great handle. I like her ability in transition, and she will show these things off this AAU season. People want to tag AAU as something important only for scouting, and it is to some extent. But it’s just as crucial in developing your game and staying sharp for your high school season.
Ava Sewall Ava Sewall 5’9″ | SG The Potomac School | 2026 State VA had a very productive season this year for Annandale. Annandale isn’t a very good basketball team, so Ava didn’t get as many eyes on her as she probably deserved. Ava is a great shooter off the dribble, has a great floater, and is a solid defender. Ava will play on GTS fusion and should gain more attention this summer.
