So these list were not something that were easy to come up with or put together but with that being said here are the 2023 PrepGirlsHoops 1st and 2nd Teams.
1st Team
Sienna Betts was arguably the state’s best player averaging 21.4 points, 16.5 rebounds and 3.8 blocks a game, in route to back-to-back championships for Grandview. Even with breakout year she was able to have, I truly believe that the best from her is yet to be seen.
Gianna Smith’s game is far beyond her years, offensively she has the complete package making her impossible to guard one on one. On the season she averaged 18.5 points and 6 rebounds a game along with a Final Four appearance.
Tiana has been the lead guard Cherry Creek for the last two years, and she has been able to show improvement from year to year. If she can continue to work on making shots consistently, I don’t see anybody stopping them next season.
The game came very easy to Macey Huard Macey Huard 6’2″ | SG Valor Christian | 2023 State CO this season, she got whatever she wanted on offense and was able to put up big numbers every night including 4 30 points games. Her Valor team was 22-3 losing a thriller to Arapahoe in the Great 8.
Nataile Guanella was one of the best all-around floor generals this past season leading her team in scoring, assist and steals. The Fort-Lewis commit put everything she had into her senior leading Monarch to the State Championship game.
2nd Team
This season we had plenty of players come out and lead their teams, but Damara Allen was the one that made her presence felt early in the season. Her play forced teams into a zone, so they wouldn’t have matchup with her one on one.
Highlights
Kyrah Daniels came in and made an immediate impact for ThunderRidge in her lone season leading them to the Sweet 16. The future Missouri State guard averaged 17 points, 8.9 rebounds and 2.6 assist a game on 42% shooting from the field.
This season Denver South went as far as Nevaeh Millard Nevaeh Millard 5’7″ | CG Denver South | 2024 State CO could take them, the 2024 guard made huge strides in her game on both ends of the floor. She ended the season Top 5 in scoring for 6A and gained experience that will only make her a better player moving forward.
Coming into the new season Tori was asked to be more of a leader on the court which meant keeping her teammates engaged on both side of the ball. With Highlands Ranch surprising people by making ,it to the Great 8 I’ll say she did just that.
Highlights
Ralston Valley had a well-balanced team of players that understood their roles, but Sophia Sabus Sophia Sabus 5’11” | CG Ralston Valley | 2024 State CO was the engine that kept the team running her 15.4 points lead the team. Sophia proved time and time again that she is a guard that is capable of handling the pressure of the defense.
Sofia Baldessari Sofia Baldessari 6'0" | SG Douglas County | 2024 State CO
Sofia Baldessari Sofia Baldessari 6'0" | SG Douglas County | 2024 State CO
Sofia Baldessari Sofia Baldessari 6’0″ | SG Douglas County | 2024 State CO is as constant as they come but coming into a new school, I was unsure of how she would adjust. Nevertheless, her game remained the same, the scoring wing helped Douglas County put together a winning season on averages of 20 points and 7 rebounds.
