Continue ReadingRebecca Aagard Rebecca Aagard 6’2″ | PF North Polk | 2025 State IA was a pivotal difference maker for her North Polk high school team on their way to the state tournament this season. The 6’2 center was a dominate force down low for the Comets all season long, altering or distorting shots taken by the opponent, giving her team a better chance to come out with the W at the end of the contest. Aagard is athletic with some good basketball sense. She can play the 4 or the 5 position while being a good defender on almost any type of player except an extremely quick guard. Moving forward over the next two season Aagard is going to be a top center in her class in the state of Iowa and a nice get for some college out there needing a big defender with good footwork and knowledge of the game.
You can’t mention this class and not mention Haylee Stokes Haylee Stokes 5’6″ | PG Estherville Lincoln Central | 2025 State IA . Stokes was a monster on the offensive side of the ball again this season, putting up some big time numbers for her class and the state of Iowa in general. Stokes showed off this season that she has an extensive skillset on the offensive side of the floor while being a hard worker on the defensive end of things. Her ability to shoot, handle and get to the hoop are next level. You can tell that from a young age she has had the ball in her hands with total confidence of making the right decision. This is something that has helped her up until this point in her life. By the end of her high school career Stokes will have a chance to be the top scorer out of her class, something that is reachable for the star guard.
Zoe Hinze Zoe Hinze 5’4″ | PG Southeast Polk | 2025 State IA is another name that some maybe familiar with coming into this year but with the season she just put together, I’m sure she is going to be receiving a lot of attention moving forward. Hinze, is a guard with the ability to handle when need be. Her natural position is a mix between the point guard spot, shooting guard spot, and the combo guard spot. She has the ability to play all three for her team, given the situation. This was another player who had a big role in getting her team to the state tournament. She did a great job of helping her Southeast Polk Rams spread the floor and create more options for her team on both sides of the floor. Next season I expect her to pick up where she left off and try to help her team return the state tournament after getting a taste this past season.
Ava Eastlick
Ava Eastlick
Ava Eastlick was the leader in the 2025 class shooting the three ball, in attempts and makes on the season. Eastlick is a quick releasing shooting guard with a really nice jump shot. Her job for her team this season was to light it up from behind the arc and she did just that. She did a great job of finding her spots on the floor and making the most of it. You can tell that since a young age she has been a player with the opportunity to shoot the ball a good amount for whatever team she is on, helping lead to her success on the high school floor from behind the three point line. This high school team went 24-1 this season and fell just short in the state QF game, an accomplishment this team is proud of but won’t be satisfied with. Next season they will attempt to return to the Well once again behind the sharp shooting of Eastlick and the play of some of their other major contributors.
