The 5-7 point guard helped lead Dr. Phillips to back-to-back state championships and is a culprit when she is on the floor. Turner can score in a variety of ways and this year was no exception, as she averaged 19.5 points, 10.1 rebounds and 7.1 assists per game. She is also one of the toughest players to go up against one-on-one. Turner was named the Florida High School Girls Basketball Player of the Year as well, courtesy of MaxPreps.
The 6-2 junior forward played with an edge in the semifinals and championship games this season for Bishop Kenny. She shows a ton of versatility on both ends of the floor and will often times guard multiple positions on the floor. This season she started shooting from beyond the arc more often and knocked down 30 percent of her three-pointers. She brought an athletic frame on the defensive end averaging nearly four rebounds per game.
The 5-7 junior guard is a capable scorer and facilitator while on the floor. She is also very smart and has a high basketball IQ when teams are pressuring her. Hockley made the move from Clearwater to Sickles last off-season and averaged 19.3 points, 2.3 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 3.2 steals per game for the Gryphons. On the defensive end, Hockley can guard multiple positions and has great footwork to always be in the right position.
The 5-6 point guard is a prolific shooter from beyond the arc, as well as a leader on the floor. This season for Ponte Vedra, Gavazzi shot 33 percent from beyond the arc and averaged 12.4 points per game. She can control the game and play with her own pace as well as play unselfishly. On the defensive end she is very scrappy and can read the passing lanes with the best of them, as she averaged nearly two steals per game this season for the Sharks.
The 6-1 forward has taken a huge leap as far as her recruiting process goes, taking visits to Arizona, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Miami, UCF and several others. Her ability to attack the paint also was increased and can score against a variety of defenders. Blue had numerous coaches come check her and Lake Highland Prep this season. Blue averaged 12.2 points and 5.0 rebounds per game this season helping lead the Highlanders to their fourth consecutive state title.
The 6-1 forward brought the ability to stretch the floor knocking down shots from inside the paint, as well as from beyond the arc for Miami Country Day. At her size and her length, Nelms could score with the best of them and shot 50 percent from the floor, including 48 percent from beyond the arc. She is also a rebounding machine, where she led her team averaging 9.8 rebounds per game this season. Nelms was also named a finalist for the Class 3A Player of the Year award in the state of Florida.
The 5-9 wing is one of the best offensive rebounding players you may find in the state. This season for Colonial, Richardson averaged 13.4 points and 5.0 rebounds per game helping lead the Grenadiers to their first Final Four appearance in school history. Her size and length gives her an advantage when it comes to scoring from inside or beyond the arc. Her versatility will be a big factor to see if Colonial can make back-to-back Final Four appearances.
