To go along with that there were some players to really step up and show out this year for their squad, one of them being Maas, who was their leader on both sides of the floor throughout the longevity of their season. In their 21 games the skilled center averaged 13.3 PPG, and 7.7 RPG while being a disruptor in the paint on the defensive end. She did/does a consistent job of blocking opponents shots near the hoop and making it difficult for them to score over her when close to the basket. With her length, skillset and drive I see her ceiling as pretty high. Once she becomes a little stronger and the physical part of her game comes into play, everyone watch out because she is going to be a forced to be reckoned with.
Kennedy Goodheart didn’t see the floor a whole bunch during her freshman year at Liberty High school but that won’t last for long as Goodheart is a dedicated combo guard with a lot of talent that is going to be a big part in helping this program, when looking toward their near future. Goodheart is the type of player that you can play in the 2 or 3 spot on the floor given any situation. I would say that her best ability is shooting the ball and creating space off of a dribble while going into her pull-up jumper. She can put the ball on the floor when over-played by the defense, leading her a multitude of options while driving toward the basket. This spring/summer she will suit up for All Iowa Attack out of Des Moines for another season traveling state to state showing off her talent to coaches and recruiters. An opportunity she will capture by showing that she is the hardest working player on the floor no matter the time, place, location, or opponent.
Highlights
Kamryn Kurt Kamryn Kurt 5’6″ | PG North Linn | 2024 State IA was a bucket all season long for her North Linn high school team on their way to an overall 23-2 record while falling just short of a state championship at the Well in Des Moines to end their season. Kurt, an impressive shooting guard, put on a clinic this year in how to score the ball. She showed off this year that she is an advanced scorer at the high school level and could make a positive impact at the college level with her ability to shoot the way she does. This previous season she had some of the games of her career on the offensive side of the floor, making more than a handful of three pointers, in multiple contests. For the spring she will take her superior offensive ability and aggressive defensive demeanor back to her Iowa Prep program where she will be looking to put together another successful AAU campaign over the next few months. She will do all this while also putting in work on the side, trying to make herself the best player she can be going into her senior year of high school ball with the Lynx.
The Iowa Intensity will return one of the best forwards in the 2025 class this season in the form of Breckyn Schilling Breckyn Schilling 5’11” | SF North Mahaska | 2025 State IA . Schilling is a diverse and versatile forward who score at a high rate, get a number of stops on the defensive side of the floor for her team, and can will her team to victory when they need it the most. Not to mention that she possesses great size and length, most importantly she has great speed accompanied with that size and length, making herself a walking mismatch on the high school floor here in Iowa. Currently, for her class she comes into this article ranked right outside the top 10 at #11 but if she were to have another competitive AAU season this spring followed by a high school season alike the one she just put together, where she averaged 18.5 PPG, 5.5 RPG, 3.5 APG, then she will be moving up closer to the top 5 in her class before you can blink an eye. Something that she won’t be thinking about too much, but a goal she might have in mind before the end of her high school career.
