Davis has been one of the most exciting players I’ve seen so far on the circuit this season and let me start with she’s “long and athletic” which I call the base. Her on the ball defense immediately grabbed my attention but I love excitement and when I heard “no Montay” when she shot a 25 footer fading away, that quickly changed to “yes Montay” as she banked it off the glass. She dropped the midrange, scored off the dribble and has good body control to finish strongly after contact yet she also sees the court and her behind the back pass for an assist after showing change of pace in transition dropped the MIC
Snodgrass solidified a spot on the All-Tournament team on opening day and her using her size as well as showing the “hands and footwork” around the basket to score sold was part of it. Another part was her “staying with it” inside the paint, she grabbed several offensive rebounds including from her own shots and she made “off balance finishes” look easy. She also took the defender from multiple spots to score off the dribble, body control again was nice yet she also created her shot and dropped it from mid to long range, while being defended
Highlights
Bradie Schlabs
Bradie Schlabs
Schlabs was defensive POY at her Wyoming high school and I get it because her “on the ball” defense as well as her “playing the passing lane” had me smiling off the top. On the offensive end, let me start with her handling the ball under pressure as well as seeing the floor while tightly guarded and her hitting teammates “on the money’ in transition as well as in the set was nice. She has a nice pull-up jumper, she creates it smoothly and can drop it from mid to long-range yet her ability to “catch and shoot” showed in every game I caught her
Caleah Kennedy
Caleah Kennedy
Kennedy will be added to the Top 100 as she has taken her game to yet another level. She has two big pluses college coaches love, she stands over “the magic number” which is 6’0 and she’s “long and athletic” which is the base. Her intangibles are what helps take her game upward, she has good timing on defense to block shots, well alter and deflect them as well. She rebounds on both ends. She scores around the basket as well as off the dribble from the wing but even more impressive is how she’s dropping the long ball consistently and with her size, that also is a dream for many college coaches
Grace Frazier
Grace Frazier
Frazier had me tweet “I can’t say down goes Frazier but I can say going off from Downtown Frazier”. Okay, I didn’t say it exactly like that but I was rushing, something she doesn’t do as she patiently sets the defender up and takes good shots. On every sheet from her games, I have DEEP, yet going through the notes, something else stood out along with her shooting the long ball and that’s her handling the ball with ease under pressure. She scores off the dribble and also dishes the ball while attacking and one blistering pass by 3 defenders had me get up and take a break yet she also breaks the defender down to drop the midrange
