Individually they are all incredibly talented and it’s exciting to see them play one another when given the chance. In the next few years, you can count on some good Basketball with this entire class including the class of 2026 and 2027. Let’s start this series of articles off with the Top 5 in 2025 followed by stock-risers and breakout candidates.
#1 Brooklynn Felchle Brooklynn Felchle 6'3" | C Bismarck Legacy | 2025 State ND : 6’3 Bismarck Legacy– Felchle had a big season for Bismarck Legacy leading her team this season with 15.8PPG, 9RPG, 1.2BPG and shooting an astounding 64.9% from the floor, as well as picking up WDA All-Conference and 2nd Team All-State Honors. Brooklynn’s progression over the last year has completely skyrocketed and made her one of the best players/posts in the State. Her ability to finish going either right or left-handed, and getting herself into position is something she has nearly perfected. At 6’3 she is nothing short of a handful on the interior offensively and defensively alike. Overall, she is very impactful as a rebounder, shot blocker but she also showed everyone she can hit mid-range shots fluidly as well. In the WDA Felchle was #1 in FG%, #4 in Blocks, #3 in Rebounds, and #8 in scoring with 426points/15.8PPG and you can believe those numbers are only going to go up next year. Felchle is a great player who is aggressive, competitive and has the drive to always get better and the ability to play at a high level in the future. She is a solid prospect that colleges need to be keeping an eye on.
#2 McKenna Johnson McKenna Johnson 6'2" | PF Mandan | 2025 State ND : 6’2 Mandan – When you combine athleticism, basketball instincts with a long 6’2 frame you have all the makings of a solid player, and that’s exactly what Johnson is. At a long 6’2 packed with great footwork and post moves Johnson can be a menace for any team to handle. She is an exciting skilled inside player that is fun to watch but also understands how to get into position, hold it and score with ease in the paint when the ball is given to her. On the defensive end of things, she has already proven she is a tough “paint protector” and has a strong knack at blocking shots, but also doubles as a strong rebounder. This season in the 16 games she appeared in she averaged 11.6PPG, shot 51% from the field, added 27 blocks and pulled down 125 rebounds. Towards the end of the season in the last 5 full games she started in she averaged 16.2PPG, 10.6RPG and 2.2BPG proving she is the caliber of player you want to keep on the floor the whole game. Aside from being a strong presence on the interior, her ability to step out to the mid and 3-point range is another asset that makes her so versatile on the court. She is another very skilled athlete drawing a lot of attention and can expect more to come her way. With her summers spent in Minnesota with her grassroots program North Tartan, you can expect her game to expand more outside, improving her shooting abilities. She is another one we will be hearing a lot about the next coming years.
#3 Jaiden Haile: 6’2 West Fargo Horace– Hailes Varsity debut was nothing short of impressive to say the least. In her first season under a brand-new program Jaiden came in leaving a big mark in the EDC averaging 14.6PPG #9 in the EDC, 335 Rebounds/14.6RPG #1 and 36 blocks #4 in the EDC and game highs of 34pts and 25 rebounds. Jaiden is a long athletic player who knows how to use her size to her advantage on both ends of the floor. At 6’2 and with a solid strong frame she and decent footwork she can stay in front of her opponent making them earn every point in the paint, but also works very hard boxing out opponents and has really found her knack at putting back second chance points. Jaiden is nothing short of a strong presence on the interior with great agility to make plays happen on the inside offensively and defensively alike. With a little finer tuning she could be a player to really turn more heads next year. She has all the tools and talent in her bag, add that to playing on the North Tartan 16U EYBL team her overall skills are only going to elevate. The potential she has is off the charts, and I expect her to be an All-Stater next season.
#4 Scout Woods Scout Woods 5'10" | SF Wahpeton | 2025 State ND : 5’10 Wahpeton– Woods is an extremely skilled scorer and playermake with a tight handle on the ball. Her ability to get to get to the rim using her quick dribbling skills without hesitation are a few of the weapons that sperate her from the rest. At 5’10 Woods is very versitile on the court and can play outside or inside when needed. As a she had another big year finishing with 410points/17.1PPG #6 in the EDC, 189 Rebounds/7.7RPG #6 in the EDC and shot 43% from the field and picked up 2nd Team All-State and EDC All-Conference honors as well. Scout has a great ability to score from nearly every level on the floor and rebounds very well for her size, she has a ton of skills in her bag and knows how to use every one of them. All in all Scout is a very athletic athlete that can change the tempo of the game and is what I consider a floor general. She has been impressive the last 2 years and will only get better with her work ethic and drive to succeed. An all-around sound player that can pack a punch, and one who really had a breakout year.
#5 Zoie Austin Zoie Austin 5'7" | CG Bismarck Century | 2025 State ND : 5’8 Century– Austin had a great Sophomore season and really showed everyone how good and athletic she really is. Zoie is a natural in the guard position with great catch and release shooting skills, but also can penetrate to the rim very well and has a nice little 10′ floater she can toss up for a smooth bucket. This season she averaged 8.3PPG, tallied on 35 steals and shot 43.6% and added 46 assists. One of the best qualities of Austin’s play is not only her speed but her skills on the defensive side. As a defender she is an absolutely relentless and hardnosed, if you plan on getting around her, you are going to earn it. I’ll give her the credit all day when it comes to defense, Zoie flat out is tough, and has a good grasp to force turnovers with her quick hands and using her speed to run it back down the floor for an easy layup. She is a player we all need to keep an eye on, who brings a lot of versatility to the floor and will be a key player next year for the Patriots.
