The High School season wrapped up last month and travel season has officially begun. With several events over the past couple weeks, the Sunshine Showdown will welcome 130 teams to Wesley Chapel at the Wiregrass Sports Campus this weekend for 3 days and big-time action.
EYBL Teams
All Iowa Attack (IA)
All Iowa Attack is rolling deep with 12 teams from 7th grade all the way up to 17U. They are led by Iowa State commit Aili Tanke on their 17U squad as well as a number of talented players. Class of 2025 prospects Divine Bourrage, Journey Houston, Jordan Spiecer are all playing up at 17U.
Essence Girls Basketball
Essence will have a strong presence this weekend fielding teams from both Florida and Georgia. Trinity Turner Trinity Turner 5'7" | CG Dr. Phillips | 2024 State FL coming off back-to-back state championships for Dr. Phillips will look to lead Essence 17U Purple while newcomer Taniyah Davis Taniyah Davis 5'8" | PG American Heritage | 2026 State FL will be a newcomer to the silver, purple and black.
Miami Suns Youth Development
The Suns are rolling deep with 17U all the way down to 4th grade bringing their entire organization. The Suns 17U Team Fowles squad will be led by their two leading scorers from last year Kayla Nelms Kayla Nelms 6'1" | PF Miami Country Day | 2024 State FL and Eris Lester Eris Lester 5'10" | SF Montverde Academy | 2024 State FL . The duo had big travel seasons last year playing up from 16U to 17U and carried it over to the high school season. Syracuse commit Olivia Schmitt, Chloe Sotell, and Sofiah Miller Sofiah Miller 6'1" | PF Sarasota | 2025 State FL are all newcomers to the Suns organization and will be leaned on for big roles. Jim’Miyah Branton moves up to 16U on Team Larkins and will look to lead her squad along side class of 2026 newcomers Chamiah Francis Chamiah Francis 6'3" | C Booker | 2026 State FL and Jaelynn Housey while Team Kiki will be led by 2027 standout Jalynn Belton Jalynn Belton 5'10" | SF Miami Country Day | 2027 State FL .

East Coast United will bring multiple teams across 2024 – 2027. Their Family, Richardson, Navy, and Team Los squads are locked and loaded top to bottom!
J Sizzles will run in the 3SSB circuit brings 6 teams, while FGB from the UAA circuit has 10+ teams. Independent programs like Orlando Basketball Club, Florida Gulf Coast Miracle, Miami Impact, TNBA South, Tre Mann Elite, Tampa Thunder, Team H20 (GA), Space Coast Fury, Inspir8tion Basketball, Nona Basketball Academy, and a number of others will all kick it into action this weekend. With four Prep Hoops writers on the scene, we will be there to catch all the action and report on the results.
