Check out Part 1 below!
Standfest was very impressive at Michigan’s Main Event. I really liked her ability to create as well as find lanes to the rim. Standfest was always under control, showing elite offensive footwork. She was incredibly patient and effective when playing off 2 feet in and near the paint. This created looks at the rim and passing lanes to her teammates.
Woods was really solid for the Michigan Goonies last weekend. Her downhill style that utilizes her strength was on display. This helped Woods rack up a couple of double digit scoring games. She was even more effective on the other end of the floor where she locked up on the perimeter.
DeRose showed off her game very well with the Capitol City Express last weekend. I really liked her versatility and her ability to contribute in whatever way her team needed. If they need a bucket, DeRose delivered on her way to 2 13 point games. If CCE needed a ball handler, she showed she could do that as well. In addition to her steady offensive play, DeRose was solid on the defensive end as well.
Trust me on this one, the more you really watch Anderson play, the more you come away really liking her game. Her overall physicality and strength are very underrated. Anderson had a 12 point game and a 15 point game, scoring tough buckets in both contests. She recognizes good shots and showed the ability to create them off the bounce.
Garavaglia is having a really good spring so far with the Michigan Mystics NE2K team. She had a few double digit scoring games totaling 19, and 17 and 10 in 3 of her games played. Garavaglia, like she has done all grassroots season so far, showed that she can really thrive in a physical style of game. She’s showed that she’s willing to battle for high percentage looks at the rim.
Rodriguez continues to show us why she should be considered a national recruiting target. She had the look of a true superstar with the Mystics at the Main Event. Rodriguez was so slick and smooth and made it so tough for defenders to stay connected to her. She was a big time shooter and scorer at the event.
