I love progression and having caught Fundamentals First a few weeks ago, I was excited about their team's improvement from multiple players, especially when you factor in the "little things that turn out to be big" as they continue playing so here are some of the players that stood out, keep in mind I only covered Sunday. Also, note Carly Thompson (MWA) as well as Trinity Price and Bujayo Aladewoln, both from Cy Fair, made my Size and Upside Matters article

Chenelle Journet (Fundamentals First)

Journet did a good job of not only handling the ball but seeing the floor, both under pressure, in fact, her crossover in transition was nice as she was under control and going full speed. She also did a good job attacking the basket, the first step helped set that up, and she finished after contact but her defense was solid and she played the passing lane

Herbriana Mathis (Fundamentals First)

Mathis used a deceptive first step to get the defender off balance so she could attack the basket yet she also did a good job of creating her shot from the outside. I'm giving her the #THROWBACK hashtag because she followed her shot, something I rarely see in this era yet her pull-up jumper from midrange was solid, and she too played the passing lane

Kenya Nettles (MWA)

Nettles uses her athleticism well on both ends of the court and her "on the ball" pressure was one of if not the best all day. I watched her come out of nowhere to intercept passes, aka "playing the passing lane" yet she's explosive off the dribble and has good body control on her finishes. Her good vision is good in the open court as well as in the set, good upside

Kennedy Gouard (MWA)

Gouard falls into that #sizedontmatter category because she is a GAMER. She creates her shot in the set and has a legitimate pull-up jumper yet in transition, her stop and pop from mid to long-range was overly impressive. She handled the ball under pressure and blew by defenders to attack the basket, she also has solid court vision and let me also drop #THROWBACK as she too followed her shot

Sage Turner (Cy Fair)

Turner turned my head several times as she gets the cover photo for her midrange shooting. She handles the ball well and understands how to set the defender up to get her shot off as well as go by them but she also was "on the ball" defending "baseline to baseline". When you factor in she "saw the floor" and made good decisions, her upside is also nice

Enayah Sanchez (Cy Fair)

Sanchez mixed it up smoothly in the offensive end as she got hers "in the flow" so creating her shot to drop the mid to long-range was nice and so was her attacking the basket strongly and staying under control on her finishes after contact. Her court vision was also impressive and add her to the players that played the passing lane

Aliyah Wilson (Cy Fair)

Wilson is closing it out with my saying 'she played the passing lane" yet her athleticism, especially on the defensive end helped create turnovers. She handled the ball after rebounding, and she also made good decisions yet her attacking the basket from multiple angles and finishing after the lick was more than solid
