It’s the first chance you get to see whos ready to take that step forward heading into their high school season. It’s been an only boys tournament, but they’ve finally decided to host a girl’s DMVlive at Bullis school. I couldn’t be more excited, so I want to break down some of the best newcomers to the 3 Virginia schools competing in this event.
Scarlet LeVake
Scarlet LeVake
2026 guard Scarlet LeVake possesses fantastic size for a guard. She is around 6’2, and she uses her size effectively. She has good defensive instincts and uses her length to disrupt smaller players’ shots and get her hands in passing lanes. On offense, she does her work on other guards by simply shooting over them. She moves well, too, enabling her to drive by the bigger defenders they put on her. This list is primarily rising freshmen or transfers, but she is still basically a newcomer since Scarlet didn’t see the court much last year. I am interested to see how much of a role this season is when the high school starts, but this weekend at DMVlive, I’m sure you’ll see some of her.
Sabrina Anderson Sabrina Anderson 5’8″ | PG Potomac School | 2027 State VA is one of the best players in the 2027 class and a part of what will be a fantastic Potomac school backcourt. Sabrina has been excellent this spring/summer playing up and dominating the 17U division. I did a write-up on some 2027 impressive standouts, so I won’t dive super deep into what she can do. But her shooting passing, and overall offensive skill makes her a terrific basketball player. She is a newcomer to watch this weekend.
Potomac School has another 2027 guard named Sabrina to watch this weekend. Sabrina Eldredge Sabrina Eldredge 5’9″ | SG Potomac School | 2027 State VA is a great shooter with fantastic range. She is a great fit next to the other guards Potomac School has, and this 2027 pairing makes me excited to watch Potomac School. Sabrina already has a couple of offers and for a good reason.
Eva Robertson Eva Robertson 6’3″ | PF Bishop O’Connell | 2025 State VA is transferring into Bishop O’Connell, and she’s a player I’m excited to get to watch. Eva has tremendous size at 6’3, and she impacts the game a lot in the paint on both ends. She is excellent on the glass and finishes nicely inside. Eva just transferred to Bishop O’Connell, so I’m not sure how much she’ll be on the court this weekend, but she will be a fun new name to watch.

Alyna Rachmat Jones
Alyna Rachmat Jones
Alyna already plays up in age for Fairfax Stars, so I’m sure she will adjust well to the high school game. Her ball handling and shooting are fantastic, and she will be one of the better players in NOVA in the 2027 class. Like Eva, Alyna is new to PVI, so I don’t know how much she’ll play this weekend. But if she gets on the court, she will be an intriguing watch.
