One of those is Presbyterian College. The Blue Hose are based in Clinton, South Carolina – Laurens County, specifically. They are part of the Big South Conference that also includes a few other Palmetto State schools such as Winthrop, USC Upstate and Charleston Southern.
Prep Girls Hoops was on hand for Monday’s play. Without further adieu, here is a look at who raised eyebrows among the rising juniors that were on hand.
Laila Lewis
Laila Lewis
The previous wearer of the No. 2 for 4A South Pointe was Jatiya Shannon, but she graduated following the 2022-23 school year. Lewis looks to establish that opposing teams will still have to look out for No. 2 when game planning for the Stallions. She finished with nine points in what was an impressive victory for South Pointe over 3A Wren. She was particularly effective with the 3-point shot as she drained a trio of treys to bolster the Stallions offensive attack. South Pointe drained five triples for the contest. Lewis was previously listed as No. 10 on the Stallions’ roster.
Harvey is fresh off of a 2022-23 where she averaged nearly 12 points per contest for the 4A Rockets. She primarily plays at the one as a point guard and does the most she can with the minutes she collects. She also understands the art of attacking the basket and finding lanes to finish with authority at the rim. Defensively, she is a threat to create additional offensive possessions with the steals she gets and those can turn into two-point baskets on the other end of the court. She is one of many rising juniors on the rise throughout North Carolina and one reason why is that she plays with a high basketball IQ.

Addie Long
Addie Long
No. 42 gives the 4A Rockets a reliable option in the frontcourt to compliment what the team is able to get accomplished in the backcourt. Long is a multi-sport athlete who also participates in junior varsity volleyball to go alongside what she does on the basketball court. Long, with her height, will convert on her opportunities to score high-percentage baskets and she also has a knack for rebounding. Long will win plenty of rebounding battles and makes things difficult for opponents looking to score on her in the interior. She is also a threat to reject shots as a defender.
It is one of the oldest rules in basketball that height cannot be coached. The 5-foot-10 stature of 4A Wilson’s rising junior star is no exception. With an 11-point outing, Swinton’s play was crucial in willing her Tigers to a come-from-behind victory over 5A Dorman. That height comes in handy not only as a scorer but also in terms of rebounding. She has no problems drawing contact and getting her opportunities at the free throw line. While listed as a forward, her height can make her valuable with playing the five as well. In the 24 games she played for the Tigers last season, she averaged 10.5 rebounds.
Game planning for how to contain Crosland often leaves opposing coaches and teams at a crossroads. One of the signature players of last season’s Spring Valley rendition under coach Megan Assey that advanced to the Upper State 5A final, do not overlook this rising junior. She has no problems attempting and making her 3-point attempts. She is one of the taller players that is on the Vikings roster and her 5-foot-9 frame combined with her length makes her a force to be reckoned with in the rebounding game (and with defense overall). Crosland also has volleyball experience throughout her time at Spring Valley.

Kinley Hooker
Kinley Hooker
As coach Pamela McGowens and her 3A Wren bunch search for what her Hurricanes squad will resemble after its 3A runner-up status in 2022-23, perhaps No. 10 may give them some answers. Hooker had a stellar performance as she tallied nine points against one of the premier 4A assemblings in the state in South Pointe. She has no issues with drawing contact that can place her at the free throw line. In addition, when she has the rock from behind the 3-point arc, she is very likely to take and make said attempts. Hooker can also get herself in position to corral rebounds. She is listed at 5-foot-6.
If any college coaches are in need of a standout that fuses together the skills of both a guard and a big, look no further than this resident standout 2025 for the 5A Vikings. Sainvil may be listed as either a point guard or as a shooting guard, but will have plenty of occasions where she will deliver big plays close to the basket. Sainvil is not afraid to play the game on contact and that fearless mentality will give her team plenty of chances at the free throw line and plenty of opportunities to convert on old-fashioned 3-point plays.
