There’s a lot of girls basketball talent to be in Tecumseh these days. VanBlack adds another solid name on that list. She was feeling her game at Run 4 The Roses, being relied upon as a primary scorer and thriving in that role. She’s one of the most improved players in the area over the last 6 months.
Dykstra really caught my eye at the Run 4 The Roses. At this point we all pretty much know that she’s a special basketball talent and can pad a stat sheet if needed. But in Kentucky it was her grit and ability to focus on the intricacies of the game that impressed me the most. Yeah, she hit big shots, but she also set big screens, got big boards and was efficient with the ball.
Kuhl made sure that college coaches will keep an eye on her and her game with her performance at Run 4 The Roses. She was fast up the floor, with or without the ball, which pressured the defense for her Naturals team. Kuhl was very solid defensively showing anticipation and the ability to use it in the passing lanes.

Michigan Center is getting a good one next season. It was easy for scouts and coaches at Run 4 The Roses to see all the talent that she Vieau carries. She was a terrific spot up shooter, but also got buckets at all 3 levels. I really liked the way she drove the lane, used 2 feet, and scored with control and precision.
Williams left no doubt in Kentucky. She’s simply one of the top post prospects in the country. Hands down. Williams showed her expertise when it comes to using her length on the defensive end, challenging and blocking shots. She’s an elite rim protector. Williams moves well in all directions and scores in a variety of ways.
It just seems right that Kotowicz made a statement at Run 4 The Roses. She’s had a terrific grassroots season and I know I’ve been very impressed with her play. It was good to see her do it on another big stage. Kotowicz is a smooth multi level scorer off the wing and college coaches should have her on their radar at this point.
Highlights
Halliwill definitely made herself be seen in Kentucky. Let’s start with her defense. She showed a nose for the ball and a willingness and ability to step in passing lanes and get tips or steals. Halliwill showed tremendous court vision, hitting her teammates when they were on the move. She also showed tremendously effective work in the mid range, using dribble moves like a hesitation dribble to create space.
