In the news, it was said there was a whole legal battle taking place.There were numerous things that happened, but the case is still ongoing. To tie the title of the movie into this article, I too felt that this division has been “Blindsided” with some things that have transpired over the summer.
Gone is one of the top PGs and players in the country in Jaloni Cambridge Jaloni Cambridge 5'8" | PG Ensworth | 2024 State FL from Ensworth. She’s taking her talents south to Florida, as she suits up for former Webb coach Matt Shewmake at Montverde Academy. Insert the Webb School from Bell Buckle. This talented bunch may have lost one of the top 25s in the state in TaTianna Stovall TaTianna Stovall 6'1" | SF Bradley Central | 2025 State TN to Bradley Central, but they will be poised to reclaim their status. They lost their whole starting 5, but are ready to show a new league that their 3-peat dominance isn’t a fluke.
Then add some up and coming programs to the mix along with a staple in Knox Catholic, and you can see why trying to figure out who will be crowned champions this upcoming year is mind boggling. This division is going to be fun for sure. With loads of talent and D1 caliber girls throughout, this league will definitely be fun to watch and cover. Here are a few key things to remember about this league going forward.
There may not be an ESPN Top 100 girl, but there are plenty of division one girls throughout this division.
Knox Catholic senior Sydney Mains Sydney Mains 5'11" | SF Knoxville Catholic | 2024 State TN tries to lead her Lady Irish teammates to back-to-back state contention. A super-tough kid who committed to Florida Atlantic. With almost their entire roster returning, you better believe this group is poised to do something great this upcoming year.
CPA Lady Lions will be a sneaky contender this upcoming year. A solid bunch of girls who play hard and play together. Merli Routh Merli Routh 5'4" | PG CPA | 2026 State TN , a rising sophomore, has tons of speed, using her quickness to create havoc on both ends of the floor. Sophomore guard Lily Morrow Lily Morrow 5'11" | SG CPA | 2026 State TN , coming off a knee injury, looks to get back to form and pick up where she left off.
Harpeth Hall will definitely be a club to keep tabs on this upcoming season. 6ft junior Ava Krumwiede Ava Krumwiede 6'1" | PF Harpeth Hall | 2025 State TN is back and ready to show the league how much she has improved over the summer. After collecting some D1 offers, this multi-level scoring threat is primed and ready to compete.
Meeyah Green Meeyah Green 5'9" | CG Webb-Knoxville | 2026 State TN , the sensational sophomore guard from Webb Knoxville, looks to lead her team deep into the tournament. Now that her club is a little more seasoned and busted their tails this offseason, look for them to make some noise this upcoming year.
Though Jaloni is gone from Ensworth, look for a new PG to rise to the top. Nori Jamison Nori Jamison 5'5" | PG Ensworth | 2026 State TN , the lefty sophomore is one to watch, will look to step into a role that will support her fellow Lady Tigers. They may not seem as dominant, but the Ensworth girls aren’t going to miss a beat.
Briarcrest senior guard Hallie Turner Hallie Turner 5'4" | CG Briarcrest | 2024 State TN is super tough. Hard-nosed kid who displays toughness and leadership. She can score the rock, but is as selfless as they come. Look for her to help lead a talented Lady Saints squad deep into the tournament.
With clubs such as Father Ryan, Hutchison getting Tyler Jones Tyler Jones 5'9" | SG Hutchison | 2025 State TN back, plus schools such as Baylor and Lipscomb Academy getting better, you can see why this division will be tough to figure out. Let the chips fall where they may, but this league will be a fun and exciting one to watch this year. With so many uncertainties , just like last year, the team that will be crowned champion will go down to the wire.
