One of the ways a number of them did so was by taking part in Da Future Showcase hosted by Carolina Girls Hoops Report. The event took place this past Saturday in Mooresville, North Carolina. Mooresville is a suburb of Charlotte known for being home to a number of race teams and shops as well for its proximity to Lake Norman.
We at Prep Girls Hoops had a bird’s eye view of the talent that was on hand at the Talbert Rec Center. The Palmetto State was well-represented in Mooresville as evidenced by the stellar performances many of them turned in.
Aficionados of 4A North Myrtle Beach have become accustomed to the play of one Destinee Vereen Destinee Vereen 5’7″ | PF North Myrtle Beach | 2025 SC . Now, those Chiefs will become well continue to become acquainted with the play of another with the same last name. Vereen participated with LA Elite throughout the travel campaign and will embark on her freshman campaign with the 4A school from the Grand Strand. The 5-foot-8 up-and-comer impressed with her ball handling skills as well as her ability to put the ball through the basket in a variety of ways – including close to the basket and with her 3-point shooting ability. Vereen, playing for North Myrtle Beach is used to playing in gold – all that was missing was the blue from her uniform at Da Future Showcase. She got her high school career off to an emphatic start last season as an eighth grader.

Prior to Sunday’s Da Future Showcase concluding with the four teams competing in two games, Washington impressed onlookers with what she managed to get accomplished in one-on-one drills. That momentum carried when it was time to compete in game action. Washington causes plenty of problems for teams on defense. Her ball handling skills is complimented by her ability to create her own shot and deliver strong finishes in the vicinity of the basket. Washington is listed at 5-foot-10 and can deliver productive minutes as either a four or a five. When one runs during the travel circuit with A’ja Wilson Elite, that is a sign that she is among the premier high school girls hoopers in the Palmetto State. Joseph competed in her freshman campaign last season at 3A Darlington. She stands at an even six feet and she used every bit of that six feet to her advantage – especially when game action commenced to conclude the day in Mooresville. When she was fed the ball in the low post, it was a near certainty she would find a way to put two points on the board. She also was a force on the boards and worked for everything she got. Joseph is not afraid to play the game on contact and that play will give her opportunities at the free throw line in more traditional contests.
Speaking of standouts who wore the A’ja Wilson Elite 15U uniform during the last few months of travel ball, Johnson only appears to be getting better and better as she gains more experience against her high school peers. It appeared that whenever she had the ball this past Saturday in Mooresville that she was a threat to score. Johnson possesses the ability to drain her attempts from long range and will also finish strong at the basket. Rebounding is another one of Johnson’s strong points. She can also be an effective shot blocker as she will use every millimeter of her 5-foot-10 frame to her advantage. Ridge View made a surprisingly deep run in last season’s 4A playoffs and one can expect the wins to continue to pile up for the Blazers will Johnson continuing to wear its signature purple, black and white colors.

Prep Girls Hoops remembers getting a glimpse of Blye earlier this summer at team camps at Coker University as well as at Coastal Carolina. Carvers Bay was one of those teams at both camps and Blye put forth an impressive performance. She did so again on Saturday in Mooresville with her ability to score high-percentage baskets. Blye is a frontcourt force who can log productive minutes as either a three or as a four. She is listed at 5-foot-11 and played her most recent AAU campaign with Upward Stars Pee Dee.
