During camp month of June, Johnson landed an offer from Claflin. The latest school to offer Johnson was Bluefield State – an HBCU in West Virginia. These offers are in addition to previous offers she landed from Newberry College, Columbia College and Allen University last calendar year. Johnson contributed majorly to a 20-9 season for Ridge View as the Blazers moved back up from 4A to 5A – Division 1 to be exact. She played in 24 games last season and averaged 6.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.3 steals last season then played her final grassroots season with Palmetto 76ers/A’ja Wilson Elite . 

The 2025-26 season will be one of adjustment at 5A Ridge View. Former coach Terrence Gibson has departed to take the job at 4A Brookland-Cayce and former coach at 4A Lower Richland Aaron Lucas assumes the reins with the Blazers. Johnson is more than ready to live up to those expectations and then some. Similar to Joseph, Johnson also landed an offer to bring her talents to Claflin. Prospects with her height but can also operate in the frontcourt can be very intriguing to many a collegiate coach. Last season, she took to the court in 24 games with a Blazers team that finished last season with a record of 20-9. 

Johnson’s 5A Ridge View team may not have got the result it was in search of against undefeated 5A Lexington, but she still willed her team with a 15-point outing. She still displayed her accuracy from deep as she connected on five of her 3-point attempts. In that game, the Blazers drained seven from behind the arc. As one of six juniors on what is a veteran-centric team, Johnson fuses together skillset with experience. Accurate 3-point shooting is not something that is conventionally seen from many 5-foot-10 players but Johnson is not the typical 5-foot-10 standout. She will certainly haul in her fair share of rebounds but versatility is a central point of what she can get accomplished. 

When one talks about stacked teams throughout the Palmetto State, the assembling that coach Terrence Gibson has put together at (once again) 5A Ridge View has to be at or near the top of that list. Where Johnson especially displayed impressive play was on defense. She drew tough defensive assignments in the interior and responded to those tasks with block after block. Add that to what she was able to get accomplished on the offensive side and one can see why she is one of the Blazers’ featured players. She averaged 9.7 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.2 steals last season as a sophomore and was a major reason why Ridge View qualified for last season’s 4A Lower State championship game.
