Sunday, August 27th, Prep Girls Hoops Indiana hosted its second annual Freshman Showcase. The event, which took place at Fishers High School, included more than 110 registered participants, all from the 2027 class. Fellow writer Jeremy Brooks (PGH Iowa) will be writing a number of follow-up articles from the event as well, but I wanted to focus my time on each team and each young lady who participated in the showcase through a series of articles of my own. Additionally, I would like to thank all of the players, parents, and support staff who made this event a success!

TEAM 5:
#16 - [player_tooltip player_id='751100' first='Madalynn' last='Warnock'], Charlestown H.S. - Madalynn is a long and wiry guard. She has a nice combination of speed and quickness, but she could definitely use a little more strength to absorb contact better. She was very active and looked to attack.

#29 - [player_tooltip player_id='691221' first='Maggie' last='Coolman'], Homestead H.S. - I liked Maggie's all-around play. She isn't very tall, but she has solid strength at her size, plus she's a nice North/South athlete. She got the ball where it needed to go, and she has good court awareness.

#43 - [player_tooltip player_id='751118' first='Saniya' last='Smith'], Pike H.S. - Saniya is a true playmaker. She is another smaller guard, but she's quick, fast, and explosive in bursts. She can create off the bounce, she looks to attack, but she hit a few step-backs as well. She will also guard hard.

#53 - [player_tooltip player_id='751039' first='Amya' last='McCoy'], Lawrence North H.S. - Amya is a solid all-around athlete, and she plays with a nice motor. She has some strength to her frame, and she will defend. She has sort of an unorthodox shot, but she was consistently on target.

#54 - [player_tooltip player_id='751084' first='Kate' last='Kitson'], Bellmont H.S. - Kate is a nice, long, fairly fluid combo guard. She could use a little strength, but she has nice quickness and can change directions easily. I think she can be more of a point guard with a little more dynamic handle.

#56 - [player_tooltip player_id='751124' first='Taylor' last='Babington'], Cathedral H.S. - Taylor is a really nice athlete right now, and as her skill development continues, she'll be a good one. She has length, an athletic frame, and she can run & jump. She also looks like she might keep growing.

#120 - [player_tooltip player_id='751093' first='Lillian' last='Behrle'], Guerin Catholic H.S. - I kind of liked Lillian's poise at the point. She made mistakes, who didn't, but she always came right back and was steady and looking to find teammates. Strength will help, but she is skilled with the ball.

#606 - [player_tooltip player_id='751044' first='Brooklyn' last='Roberts'], Lawrence North H.S. - Brooklyn is a nice athlete, she possesses solid strength, and she was very aggressive attacking the basket North/South. She is definitely intriguing, and she can make athletic plays at both ends.

#618 - [player_tooltip player_id='751075' first='Jayden' last='Hildebrand'], Northeastern H.S. - Jayden could offer Northeastern some frontline help soon. She is a solid athlete with wiry strength, she plays with a motor, and she will rebound and defend. She seems like a great "glue" type of kid.

#658 - [player_tooltip player_id='751055' first='Ellie' last='Oliver'], Indian Creek H.S. - Ellie is a lefty with a strong frame, she doesn't mind physicality at all, but she also moves well and has some ball skill. She looked to make plays off the bounce, and she was most comfortable in the mid-post.

.

TEAM 6:
#12 - [player_tooltip player_id='751047' first='Carlee' last='Lanzer'], New Castle H.S. - Carlee is a long, wiry, gliding athlete. She looks to attack on the catch, she's a solid athlete, and she can handle it a little with either hand. She strikes me as more of a scorer but can play on the ball as well.

#19 - [player_tooltip player_id='751069' first='Henley' last='Good'], Fountain Central H.S. - Experiences like these will definitely help Henley at Fountain Central. She is long and wiry, she could use some strength, but she is a fluid athlete with some quickness. She also showed a nice-looking shot.

#42 - [player_tooltip player_id='751079' first='Ja'Nyiah' last='Rogers'], Purdue Polytechnic H.S. - Ja'Nyiah grew on me the more I watched her. She isn't very big, and strength will definitely help her game, but she is quick, feisty, and fearless. She is a good finisher at the basket, and she defends.

#47 - [player_tooltip player_id='751092' first='Lanie' last='French'], Bellmont H.S. - Lanie has a fairly strong frame for her size, she's a solid athlete, and she plays with a motor. She does a lot of the "little things", like rebound, get loose balls, etc., that help her teams win. She's another nice "glue" kid.

#620 - [player_tooltip player_id='751033' first='Adrian' last='McGee'], Bishop Noll Institute - Adrian is a very strong, physical, and rugged athlete who plays with a motor. She showed solid perimeter skill, but when she wanted a bucket, she went right to the block and scored on a power post move.

#627 - [player_tooltip player_id='751034' first='Alanna' last='Anthony'], Fishers H.S. - Alanna stood out first and foremost because of her athleticism. She has a long, athletic frame, she is an aggressive slasher to the basket, and she plays with a motor. As she continues developing her skill, watch out!

#641 - [player_tooltip player_id='751113' first='Olivia' last='Hazzard'], Marquette Catholic H.S. - Olivia has a strong frame, some length, and she looks like she could still grow another inch or two. She played with physicality, showed some low-post skill, but also was comfortable in the mid-post.

#644 - [player_tooltip player_id='751095' first='Lillie' last='Graves'], McCutcheon H.S. - Lillie is a high-level talent in this class, already possessing a few Division-I offers. She is extremely long, fluid & smooth, and she is starting to shoot it much more consistently. She was a standout Sunday.

#647 - [player_tooltip player_id='751032' first='Abigail' last='Orme'], Hamilton Southeastern H.S. - I was impressed with Abigail's feel for the game. She is strong for her size, tough-nosed, active, and aware. She made steal after steal, a number of assists, and she scored it inside and out.

#650 - [player_tooltip player_id='751112' first='Mylee' last='Hurse'], Fort Wayne Snider H.S. - Mylee is an absolute pest at both ends. Offensively, she'll get gaps, put pressure on the 'D', and find teammates. Defensively, she can guard anyone the length of the floor, and she steals it with ease.
