has already earned statewide recognition after being selected to the 2026 Indiana Jr. All-Stars Red Group, and her athleticism and competitiveness continue to stand out every time she steps on the floor. Smith is a dynamic guard who impacts games with her speed, defensive pressure, and ability to attack offensively.
She thrives in transition, creates scoring opportunities off the dribble, and plays with an aggressive mentality that energizes her team. Defensively, Smith can disrupt opposing guards and create turnovers that lead to easy offense. As she continues polishing her offensive consistency and overall playmaking, Smith has the upside to become one of Pike’s next standout guards and a serious name to monitor in Indiana’s 2027 class.

Quick on quick, Saniya is a talented scorer who can find offense in different ways. She has a good handle and creates space to shoot, but she can lull you to sleep and go by as well. She is a weapon looking to score it on every catch, but she also possesses good vision and can find open teammates, even through the smallest of windows. Like Patterson (above), she’s another player who could benefit from her backcourt ‘mates abilities to shoot the ball. She has also improved her urgency defensively and looks stronger.

The junior combo guard’s performance against Plainfield in the final game was what stood out the most. Knocking down 3s and getting to the basket was the theme of this game, and Saniya played a big part in that. Another thing that caught my eye was her ability to push the ball up the court and find open shots for others. She continues to have herself a good season.

Sniyah Smith, Junior Guard – Smith continues to stand out in every game, proving herself as both a scoring threat and a floor leader. She ended the night with 14 points, consistently displaying her ability to shoot from all three levels with smooth mechanics—every shot she takes looks like it’s going in. Beyond scoring, Smith sets the tone for her teammates with her vocal leadership and by leading through example, keeping her team engaged on both ends of the floor.
Defensively, Smith uses her quickness and anticipation to pressure ball handlers, disrupt passing lanes, and force turnovers, giving Pike extra possessions. She also excels in transition, running the floor effectively and putting herself in position to score or create opportunities for teammates. Her combination of scoring, leadership, and defensive impact makes her one of Pike’s most valuable players, and she is poised to continue elevating her game and the program as she progresses through her junior season.

since her freshman season, and she continues to be one of the most enjoyable players to watch develop. This year, she’s off to a true breakout start. In Pike’s matchup against Indianapolis Crispus Attucks, Smith delivered one of the most complete performances of the day 19 points, 5 assists, 7 steals, and 4-of-10 from three showcasing her versatility and confidence on both ends of the floor. Last season, Smith averaged 8.9 points per game, but her early-season surge shows she’s taken a major step forward. She consistently got downhill, finished through contact, and knocked down perimeter shots at a high clip. Just as impressive was her defensive presence and vocal leadership. Smith controlled the floor, communicated well with her teammates, and set the tone for a talented and deep Pike roster. A dynamic 2027 guard with two-way impact, Smith is firmly establishing herself as a player that college coaches need to have on their radar. Her growth, production, and poise indicate a trajectory that projects well at the Division I level.

Saniya is an absolute handful for opponents to defend. She is smaller, but she is extremely quick, fast, and changes directions instantly. She is equally explosive with or without the ball in her hands. She is an offensive weapon who can bury shots outside or get defenders off-balance and attack them off the dribble. She does have point guard skill and the ability to create for others, so she can play a traditional point guard role. But she is such a creative and consistent scorer, that’s it tough to not play her as a scoring threat.
