In the article below I will be highlighting a few players that should have been added to this 2027 – Top 25 WL, during the most recent update. Each one of these athletes is going to make a difference at the high school level this winter, as well as be added to the Official Rankings during our next update in December.
Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!
Ansley Elofson – 2027 – 6’0 – Forward – Fort Calhoun H.S.
Ansley Elofson is going to be a forward out of the state of Nebraska to know over the next few years, if she can put together some efficient seasons ahead. Elofson stands at around 6FT, while moving well all over the floor. She has the ability to catch near the basket and go to work when she has a mismatch or she can spread things out to the three point line and be a player that screens for her guards, ending in a pop or a roll to the basket for a simple look. Defensively she is just as strong. She can wall up against smaller opponents or she can use her quick thinking and active hands to get a steal from a larger post player. Either way, Elofson holds her own. I’m excited to see what she will be able to do this high school season at Fort Calhoun. From what I’m seeing from the outside point of view, she is going to get a good amount of varsity minutes this season if she can produce early on.
Aryanna Wegner – 2027 – 6’2 – Center/Power Froward – TBD
Aryanna Werner’s game is all about potential. A player that took massive strides in her deveolpment this past AAU season, has displayed that she has all the intangibles to be a great basketball player, she just needs more experience at this point. What Wegner has is raw hight and physicality. She stands at 6’2 but plays like she is 6’5 near the hoop with how long her reach is. Like I said, Wegner is all about potential. From what I understand is that she just started playing the sport of basketball this past few years. If you account for how well she plays now and take that into consideration, it’s eye-opening. If she loves this sport and continues to develop over the next few years, she is going to be a post player to know throughout Nebraska.
Jada James Jada James 5'8" | PG Duchesne Academy Omaha | 2027 NE – 2027 – 5’8 – Point Guard – Duchesne Academy H.S.
Jada James Jada James 5'8" | PG Duchesne Academy Omaha | 2027 NE is a point guard that displays a fantastic shooting stroke. James is a 5’8 guard that will be attending Duchesne Academy for her high school career. She is a steady handler of the ball, while being a good scorer from all three levels on the floor. From everything I have seen, James is one of those players that could get any shot she wants, at almost any moment. She understands how to sell her opponents with her body, while having a counter-move in the back of her head to pull out, giving herself an open look from anywhere on the court. James is a hard worker and really wants this. She is a player that stays in the gym during her off-seasons, continuing to try and get better each day. I’m excited to see her play this high school season. Something tells me this isn’t the last time we will be hearing about the name, Jada James Jada James 5'8" | PG Duchesne Academy Omaha | 2027 NE , this year.
Ava Bruggeman – 2027 – 5’6 – Point Guard/Shooting Guard – Marian H.S.
I don’t know a whole lot about Ava Bruggeman and her game but over these next few months, I think everyone is going to find out. Bruggeman is one of those players that has a high motor and a lot of heart from what I have seen. A player that doesn’t have any quit in them and won’t stop until the whistle blows, is sure to bring a lot of positive energy to her Marian high school team this winter. Bruggeman strikes me as a player that can help her teams win a lot of games because of her Will power out on the floor. We see it all the time with great players. Some of them out there can just Will their teams to victory when it’s close and Bruggeman might be that type of player. We will just have to wait and see.
