Opening day at the Breakdown Fall League offered us a variety of viewing opportunities, from talent-laden power teams to squads on the rise, from college-bound veterans back for one last hurrah to intriguing newcomers who are trying to move up the ranks. We covered a little bit of everything in our recap of opening day at Minnetonka (Click here to read it). Now we bring you a few lesser-known prospects who caught our attention.

[player_tooltip player_id='772238' first='Kaylin' last='Green'] – 2026 guard, Coon Rapids

Kaylin was baptized by fire last season at Coon Rapids. This year, with the team's new lineup and her improved play, the scrappy guard promises to make an even bigger splash. Green is super quick and very bouncy. She gets up and down the floor at pace, eyes up, always on the move. Her handles are strong and she gets across the court very, very well. Playing with the [program_tooltip program_id='712665' first='Metro' last='Stars'] this summer, we saw Green's positive attitude, constant energy, great communication skills and leadership ability. She's crafty, gets to the hoop in a variety of ways and can shoot it. Green is also a tenacious on-ball defender who fights for every inch and her understanding of that side of the game has improved. This is a player to pay attention to.

[player_tooltip player_id='772240' first='Sarah' last='Peopard'] – 2028 guard, White Bear Lake

To whom much is given, much is expected and we are expecting an awful lot from Sarah in the years ahead. That's because she is a talented 8th grader who has already dipped her toe in the varsity waters and is about to get really wet. Over the past few months she has started to settle in nicely with the older girls and looks much more comfortable than last year. It showed all summer when Sarah averaged about 20 points per game for the Bears in Breakdown events. Pictured above on the right with teammates [player_tooltip player_id='339107' first='Jordyn' last='Schmittdiel'] and [player_tooltip player_id='453750' first='Addison' last='Post'], Peopard is an outstanding shooter. She has great vision with the basketball in her hands. At nearly 6 feet tall, Peopard has the length and size to guard multiple positions and she can get up and down the court at pace. White Bear Lake could be really good again this year thanks in no small part to one of the most exciting prospects in the Class of 2028.

[player_tooltip player_id='778895' first='Hailey' last='Walbon'] – 2025 guard, St. Michael-Albertville

We are accustomed to seeing [player_tooltip player_id='339129' first='Ja'Kahla' last='Craft'] fly up and down the floor for the Knights at maximum speed to maximum effect. That's a big reason why STMA are the defending Class 4A state champs. On Sunday, however, Craft was absent and it was Walbon who was doing the flying. The creative little guard from [program_tooltip program_id='712362' first='Legacy' last='Hoops'] was everywhere. She showed a ton of bounce, a nice set of handles, the ability to create one-on-one, and the kind of explosiveness off the hop that you just can't teach. Walbon has a chance to play varsity this season despite a guard-heavy roster at STMA. Ironically, she'll need to slow down a hair or two to make that happen, remain in control, and not turn the ball over under pressure. If Hailey can check those boxes, and defend at peak level, you'll see her do very well.

Niah Hunter – 2026 guard, Maple Grove

Walbon and Green weren't the only speedsters catching our attention on Sunday. We sat down to watch Maple Grove play and the first thing we saw right in front of us was one of the quickest closeouts ever. Yes, Niah can move. The 5'5 guard from [program_tooltip program_id='712700' first='Minnesota' last='Suns'] S40 is super quick, ultra fast and very, very explosive. She's clever with the basketball, can beat most defenders off the bounce, and has nice body control once she's airborne. Hunter showed she can finish at the rim with either hand and is a nice shooter with plenty of range. She also demonstrated a sound understanding of defensive principles and a commitment to the craft. Like Walbon, Hunter is registered for the PGH Top 250 Expo on Oct. 7 at Hopkins. You will definitely want to take a look.

[player_tooltip player_id='866100' first='Addie' last='Iversen'] – 2027 guard, Delano

We haven't seen Addie a whole lot but Sunday offered a great opportunity to watch her compete against older, more experienced players at the varsity level as Delano took on White Bear Lake and Mahtomedi. Let's just say the 5'9 guard caught our attention and in a very good way. Addie is athletic and bouncy, an excellent slasher who reads the floor well, and makes the right play. Her basketball IQ is solid. She can also shoot the three. Iversen's length is going to be a big asset, as well, on both sides of the ball. She also has some nice basketball lineage as brother Max is already a stud at Delano and dad Ryan played college ball at Delaware and professionally in Australia and Greece. We'll definitely be watching again.
