Then you have that elite level you’re looking at when considering MVP awards and All- Tournament teams. After five hours of watching these players perform, here are the best of the best out of the group.
Samia did so many things right that she would be a lock when considering an MVP. She has a crossover and hesi-dribble that no one in the building could defend, in fact there were time she lost my wide angle lenses tracking feature. She dropped threes of the dribble and of the catch and got to the basket at will. She was unselfish with the ball bur still put up major numbers. If stats for this event were saved I’m pretty certain she would have shattered a scoring record. She credits her father for teaching her the crossover she uses which I called her money maker, it’s a snatch resembling something that Iverson would have brought out and is extremely rare in girls basketball.

First thing about Zhen she has exceptional timing to block shots and easily double figured that stat. That being said, she continued to improve as time passed. She settled in to the game after about four to five minutes in attacking the basket, running the transition of the dribble and knocking down mid-range jumpers. I felt in the first few minutes she was trying to force the action and show her range, when she relaxed and let the game flow through her the mid-range shot was there then she got into the groove for deeper shots. She played at an All-American caliber level and dominated the last few hours of the camp. If she worked her inside game and attack the basket first then looked to shoot the jumper after she gets in a rhythm she will be a top three player in the WCAC this season as all of the physical tools are in place.

LaBrea had a couple of games where she looked like a college athlete playing against middle schoolers. No one on the court could do anything to stop her. She made shot after shot, rebound put backed her own misses and took everyone off the dribble. It became so unfair that her coach had to substitute her to give others a chance to show what they can do. With her shot steadily improving, it’s scary to imagine how good she can become.
Ava shot looked good and she kept everything within her comfort level not forcing anything crazy. She found open players, made open shots and communicated well to her teammates on both ends. She did well at the point and off the ball and was very accurate from beyond the arc.
