Kolnitys definitely made a statement at the Top 250 this year. She’s a talented point guard that has natural floor leader tendencies. Kolnitys showed her shooting skills and range on Saturday burying a triple off the catch and a pretty pull up 3 pointer. She also showed the ability to attack the defense with the dribble drive when they stepped out on her.
Savannah Wollney
Savannah Wollney
Wollney definitely took advantage of the PGH Top 250. She utilized the event by playing well and putting her name in the minds of scouts and coaches. Wollney plays hard from tip to buzzer and works hard without the ball. She has a pretty looking jumper and she did a great job finding and filling space around the arc.
Brooks-Foster caught a lot of eyes with her play in Grand Rapids over the weekend. She was absolutely dynamic with the ball in her hands. Brooks-Foster was definitely one of the top ball handlers in the gym. She could go both ways with the ball and had a knack for using the dribble to create space between her and her defender.
Highlights
Berndt had herself a day at the PGH Michigan Top 250. She seemed to get stronger and stronger as each game played through. Berndt flashed a versatile offensive game. She scored by cutting to the rim and catching a feed with strong hands, a physical bucket under the rim and a flashy pull up triple. Berndt has a grittiness when she hits the floor that serves her game well.
Pierson had a tremendous day in Grand Rapids. She played with an offensive aggressiveness that was very impressive. Pierson was at her best all day when she was getting downhill and attacking the basket. She had a nice shot fake and take that forced a foul from the defense. Pierson also showed a tough straight line righty drive and a solid mid range jumper.
Highlights
Blue showed coaches and scouts that she’s a prospect to have on the radar. She did a lot of things well. One that stood out was her ability to set a solid screen and to play off of it. Blue was tough around the rim and often times manufactured looks at the basket with her footwork. It seemed like she was able to draw a lot of fouls at the event.
Flynn definitely played well on Saturday and drew some eyes on her game. She seemed to have a nose for the ball and seemed to be involved in a lot of big plays through the course of all the games. Flynn flaunted a really nice euro step that she scored on and drew a foul. She was also able to get off and hit jumpers in traffic from mid range.
Wolthuis sent a message loud and clear at the PGH Michigan Top 250. She was one of the best shooters in the gym and defenses had to constantly account for her. Wolthuis was so dangerous shooting in rhythm off the catch. She was also able to attack and finish at the rim with a crossover. Wolthuis was solid defensively as well where she closed out hard on shooters with a high hand.
