When you watch Mullins warm up, she looks like a D1 kid. Incredibly length, fluid athlete, and a smooth jumper well out past the 3pt line. She’s exactly what D1 coaches are looking for in their wings.
But Mullins hasn’t quit put it all together yet. She’s generally been a 3pt specialist, but this summer she’s worked hard at adding components to her game. She’s now gaining confidence attacking closeouts and making plays off the dribble. When she attacks the rim, she’s got the athleticism and length to be a terrific finisher. And just like that…Mullins potentially turns into a 5’10 3 level scorer. Her breakout is coming!
Emmy was a team leader on her Pickett County team that made it to the glass house last year. They will be favored to return again this year, and Emmy is a major reason why. Emmy was all district and all region in Pickett’s 1A region last year.
She has a college ready body and is super strong, and she can lock down an opposing guard with her strength and quickness. Emmy makes great decisions with the ball and can score from all 3 levels. Emmy defended and scored on D1 guards regularly on the GUAA circuit last summer as well. On a loaded Pickett team that should be considered among the favorites to win a state championship, look for Lowe to put up numbers that turn heads.
I get it….a Miss Basketball candidate can’t have a breakout season. But, I truly think Beaty has more to her game than she’s shown. Her scoring ability has always been a bit of an afterthought to her game, and I believe this year she may take a jump in the scoring department. Statistically, if she’s playing more aggressively looking for her own buckets, it’s going to create more help situations on D, and creating more assists as well. As Beaty’s usage % goes up, I see her points per game and assists per game going up. Expect her to point up some eye popping stats this year.
Highlights
This guard is one of the best passers in the state of TN – wether it’s during a set play, fast break, or in the full court if she is not looking at you probably means she is about give you a bullet and provide you an opportunity for an easy basket. This guard shoots the three extremely well and loves to attack the basket – at times way too unselfish. She takes playing “like a boy” to a new level. Extremely savvy with the ball. This summer she has really buckled down and worked on her defense and speed which is going to make her deadly!
Nichols started last season on a very good PC team, and will start again while be tasked with producing much more. She’s going to be asked to raise her game in all statistical areas, and she’s put in a ton of work this offseason. Look out for Zoey to have a break out.

Lightening fast shifty guard who doesn’t let her size effect her explosive scoring ability in the paint, mid range, or for three. She’s going to be asked to create so much of Cookeville’s offense, that I can’t imagine a scenario in which Gilbert isn’t putting up huge numbers. She’s just too skilled, and too well coached, not to have a breakout year.
Smothering defender who has elevated her game and is shining with confidence! Cara Lee has taken her game to an entire new level this summer demonstrating her dedication and determination to being the best on both ends of the floor and does it with an unmatched passion for the game.
