Neveah Diaz-Doolin Neveah Diaz-Doolin 5’6″ | SG Cedar Rapids Prairie | 2025 State IA is a player who can play multiple positions on the floor. She can shoot the ball and play off the catch very efficiently. When she drives to the basket, this player plays with a lot of aggression and understands how much stronger she if off of two feet. She bumps on her drives to stay in the driving lane and finishes well with both hands. One of my favorite things about this player is her ability to also shoot off the dribble with proper footwork. Additionally, when it comes to shooting, Diaz-Doolin understands coaches would rather misses be long vs short. There wasn’t a bad shot she took at the Showcase. Cedar Rapids Prairie will be making some noise this season with a loaded roster!
Paige Andernacht Paige Andernacht 5’11” | C Johnston | 2028 IA is an 8th grader who has been getting a ton of reps in with the high school kids. Her attention to detail and her in game adjustments allows her to be effective and efficient playing with other players who have been playing this game longer than she has. She’s beginning to develop being more explosive as a big which is starting to show when she’s getting and one’s in the post. Additionally, Paige has great footwork and her game is starting to evolve as she’s looking to push the ball in transition herself knowing she’s also a good passer. Johnston High School will have a freshman next year who’s going to be a great addition to their program. Paige is looking to be a leader for the Iowa Battlers this fall/winter AAU season.
Highlights
Daya Phillips Daya Phillips 5’10” | CG Johnston | 2027 State IA is the type of player coaches look for because of her mindset on the defensive side. She is a great offensive player who knows how to transition from offense to defense. She looks to guard your best player in the full court and force you to give the ball up. This athlete is physical and intelligent on both sides of the floor. Her shot selection is elite and looks to create for herself and teammates. I’m most impressed with how no matter who the opposing team is, her game will not change. Daya plays her game at all times and her team is most successful when she is on the floor. A natural leader who will pressure the ball and takes pride in her all around game. Johnston High School has another elite level guard who can play multiple positions and do the dirty work.
Tylee Weite Tylee Weite 5’10” | SG Des Moines – Valley | 2027 State IA is a freshman who plays for Valley High School. You can tell she has put in a ton of extra time in the gym because her game is evolving. From a shooting standpoint, you cannot leave her open especially for catch and shoot opportunities. In addition, she can create her shot off the dribble as well. Driving to the basket, she’s been working on low and high pickup and finishing creatively around the basket. Her reps have transitioned into gameplay and Tylee is looking to make a huge impact this high school season on the varsity level. The intelligence behind her understanding of her game and how to pick the defense apart on both sides is impressive. Be on the lookout for her this upcoming season!
Olivia Adams
Olivia Adams
Olivia Adams is a lockdown defender who did great things at the showcase. I was most impressed with her understanding of spacing and how to move off the ball. She played with a ton of confidence and shot the ball well. Her communication on the defensive side, calling out ball screens early, and boxing out for rebounds was fundamentally sound. Offensively, she plays with a lot of aggression and takes good shots. Valley High School has another freshman who is looking to do good things for their program for years to come. I’m excited to continue to watch this players game develop as she already has the winning mindset and she puts in the extra time to elevate her game.
Sioux City West High Schools freshman Madyson Prevail Madyson Prevail 5’4″ | SG Sioux City West | 2027 IA is a ball player who is an impressive shooter. She can do more than just shoot the ball, this athlete can also defend and rebound. Madyson is an all around player with a high upside because of how coachable she is and how hard she works. I’ve watched her at 3 different showcase events and she flat out went to work. She knows how to run lanes in transition and has a good rhythm in her game. I’ve watched this player make mistakes in games and doesn’t allow them to bring her down. She is a next play player who builds off of good possessions who’s confidence doesn’t drop. I can’t wait to see her progress over the next couple of months into the high school season.
Avery Moon
Avery Moon
Avery Moon is a physical left handed player who looked determined to score in the paint. She understands that she’s taller and stronger than most players that are matched up against her. If you switch on ball screens or or cuts on the basket, she will expose the defense and take advantage of mismatches. One thing that I did like from the showcase was her ability to play strong off of two feet. Creating the contact, being able to hang in the air and finish at a high rate was the most impressive from this player. Avery will be seen as one of Valley High Schools core players, she has the potential to play at the next level.
