Prior to that occurring, many of the state’s premier talents will converge on the North Charleston Athletic Center to get one of their final tune-ups before the start of the season. That happens in the form of the SCBCA Girls Elite Camp which will occur a day after the boys’ event takes place.
We at Prep Girls Hoops will also be on the scene in the Lowcountry for the festivities. Our preview series continues with a look at the 2026s that will surely have their balling sneakers on.
It does not feel that long ago when Wallace was an up-and-comer at 3A Woodruff. She has since arrived on the Palmetto State’s high school hoops scene with a flourish and 5A Dorman is better that she is now wearing their team’s colors. This past AAU season, she wore the uniform of Upward Stars 2025 where she played up in class. Wallace made her presence known at the Triumph Region Kickoff (fittingly at the Upward Star Center in Spartanburg) where she made our 16U Second Team. Thriving in the transition game and turning defense into offense are among the many strong points to her game.
When talking about standout 2026s in South Carolina, one must look no further than this stock riser from the Upstate. Owens is one of the most exciting players in the Palmetto State and she plays on a team in Pickens that is rising up the ranks of the state’s 4A landscape. She displays a vast skillset that includes ball handling capabilities, organization of an offense in a halfcourt set, attacking the rim and making efficient passes to teammates. Owens has also shown excellent leadership capabilities for someone with a few years of high school hoops remaining in her career. Owens and her Blue Flame are on the rise.
The same sentiments that apply to Owens can also apply to this talented point guard who also calls the Upstate home. Haroski plays for another team in Riverside that is also rising up South Carolina’s 4A girls ranks. She put together an impressive freshman season in 2022-23 averaging 17.8 points and 1.7 steals per contest. Riverside finished with a 20-7 season the previous campaign. Haroski flourishes as a shooting guard who understands the art of draining 3-pointers, but can also play the one. She will give her team strong finishes at the rim and will make accurate passes to her teammates.

Prep Girls Hoops became very familiar with Hanks during the spring and summer months of club basketball. She ran on said club scene with Charleston Raptors 2026 and made our 15U First Team from the Prep Girls Hoops Circuit’s Triumph Region Finals. Hanks is a multi-sport athlete who also plays for the soccer team at 2A Oceanside Collegiate. She can give a team productive minutes at either the one or two in the backcourt. Attacking the basket is another of the strong areas of her game and makes the correct passes at the correct occasions. A 3-point shot is also part of her offensive repertoire.

Thomas is an embodiment of the massive strides made by 5A Blythewood over the past couple of years. It was not that long ago that the rest of the Palmetto State’s hoops landscape may not have had coach Steve Inabinet’s Bengals on their radars. Now, Blythewood is a team one has to circle on their calendars and Thomas being part of the Bengals’ young core is a major reason why. Her primary position is at the three and she is listed at 5-foot-7. A Palmetto 76ers travel product, the skilled combo guard put together a 2022-23 season where she averaged a double-double of 16.3 points and 10.3 rebounds to go alongside 1.8 steals.
