Lucas was a huge reason for that. She may have been a seventh grader last season, but she displayed a development and talent in her game that is not found in many veterans. She took to the court in 27 games last season and averaged 9.7 points and 2.8 steals per contest. Attacking the rim, defending the ball, scoring and affecting a game’s tempo are among the many things Lucas gets done with regularity.
