The move to Nazareth Academy might be one of the biggest transfers this year. Allia brings a ton of talent and scoring power at the PG spot that will allow Nazareth to play up tempo, as well as in a half court setting. Her ability to play without the ball and next to other high level players will be on display too. She’s secured a D1 offer this past month, and that might start to multiply during the season. Her speed, defensive tenacity and limitless stamina are at the top of her skillset.
I see Hoffmann becoming one of the top players in this class over the next two years. She’s a pure athlete, with a huge motor and a smooth skillset. Her confidence at each level on the court allows her to be effective in multiple positions and roles. Defensively, her energy doesn’t turn off. On ball, off ball, the perimeter and the post.. Hoffmann makes a difference. The D1 offers are rolling in, and I expect to see more once the season gets going. A top player to watch this season.
Praises for her work ethic has started in Indiana, and that mind state has remained as she begins her junior season in Illinois. The Kenwood transfer has all the intangibles to be a key piece in the programs Road to State. Thomas has the strength, the motor, and an outside shot that will translate at the collegiate level. A huge addition to this Class.
Playing with one of the top HS programs in the state, a top PG, and an emerging sophomore star will bring a ton of college eyes to Connell this season. Her defensive mindset is top tier in this class, and her ability to maneuver throughout the floor can’t be overlooked. A huge leap in the rankings is earned, and I’m looking forward to seeing her this year. Another state run could be in the future for Butler.
Taking a leap in the rankings, Friesen has been one that has been on the radar. Her solid frame and instincts are key to her being impactful in the 3&D role. Molly makes plays with the ball and without, and a majority of her decisions usually end in a positive outcome. She can knockdown the catch and shoot three, she can attack the rim to finish and create plays, all while maintaining enough energy to be effective on the defensive side of the ball too. Lake Zurich will be a competitive team this year, and Friesen will be a big part of that success.
