It is going to be a great year on the court for North Carolina High School Hoops. There is a lot of talent around the state. Here are 5 tremendous teams that are poised for an exceptional season in 2023-2024.

Seaforth returns their top scorers, their top rebounders, and their top defenders. [player_tooltip player_id='285951' first='Gabby' last='White'] scored 15 points per game in her sophomore season for her team. She also was a beast on the glass, and White led her team with 10 rebounds per night. [player_tooltip player_id='517643' first='Peyton' last='Collins'] also averaged 13 points per game in her sophomore campaign at Seaforth. Additionally, [player_tooltip player_id='622019' first='Katherine' last='Leonard'] scored 9 points, grabbed 4 rebounds, and passed for 3 assists. A year ago, the Hawks won 27 games and were a perfect 12 and 0 in conference play. It will be another special season in Pittsboro.

North Pitt lost three of their top five scorers from a season ago. However, [player_tooltip player_id='261081' first='Zamareya' last='Jones'] is back. As a junior, Jones scored nearly 29 points per night. She can score in transition or from behind the three. Jones can get to the foul line or draw two and dish to an open teammate. Jones led her team in scoring, assists, steals, blocks, free throw percentage, and three-point percentage. Additionally, Kenae Edwards will be a huge contributor for North Pitt in 2023-2024. A year ago, she scored 9 points per game, forced steals, and passed for nearly 4 assists per night.

[player_tooltip player_id='564664' first='Braelyn' last='Stilwell'] scored 17 points per game, passed for 7 assists, and grabbed 4 rebounds for East Burke in her sophomore season. On defense, she led her team with over 6 steals per game. Stilwell led the team in points, assists, and steals a year ago. Stilwell is a fantastic shooter who connected on 45% of her shots from the field, 80% of her free throw attempts, and drained 34 three-pointers for the Cavaliers. In her freshman season, [player_tooltip player_id='621999' first='Kara' last='Brinkley'] averaged 12 points per game. She was also a great rebounder and passed for multiple assists each game. Stilwell and Brinkley are skilled players who are ready for another exceptional season in Connelly Springs.

The Northeastern Eagles are led by [player_tooltip player_id='261086' first='Jasmine' last='Felton'] and her 30 points per game. Felton was outstanding in 2022-2023. She is an aggressive guard that earned over 8 trips to the foul line per game in her junior season. Felton can also step outside and knock down the deep three. If scoring from anywhere on the court wasn't enough, she also led her team in rebounds per game and blocked shots per game. Sanai Alexander is also back for the Eagles. Last season, she was an aggressive rebounder. Each contest, Alexander would grab over 7 rebounds for her team.

Beddingfield returns the core of their team from a year ago. Natasha Marshall is the leading returning scorer for her squad. She can score in a variety of ways, but she is a tremendous defender. Marshall forced 4 steals a game - to lead her team - and also crashed for nearly 5 boards per contest. Tjohnna Harris was also a force for the Bruins. She scored 6 points, grabbed 4 rebounds, and created nearly 2 steals. Beddingfield has a great deal of young talent that will be ready for the challenges of Conference 8.
