While having some time to prepare for this year, I have put together a list of a handful of competitors that will be considered for our Miss Nebraska Basketball POTY. Each player taken into consideration is someone that is monumental in the success of their perspective team, while also being absolutely dominate in most facets of the game across the board.
Please note: This award, depending on who is giving it, usually only accounts for players competing during their Senior seasons. That will NOT be the case in this situation. Any player, from any grade level is fair game and has a chance to win.
Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!

Neleigh Gessert Neleigh Gessert 6'0" | SG Millard West | 2025 State NE is one of the states premier three pointer shooters and overall scorers of the basketball. Throughout her past two years of varsity ball, Gessert has stepped in and made some important shots for her Millard West Lady Cats team. I’m expecting that same production to be relevant again this winter. On a team with some other collegiate level talent, Gessert is always ready with her feet set to let it fly from anywhere on the court. Like I mentioned above, she is a fantastic three point specialist but she can also score from all three levels on the offensive end, better than most. If the defense decides to over-play her jump-shot, then she has the ability to pump fake fake name | 2027 NE and drive for a chance at a bucket closer to the rim. When it comes to her own defense, I would say that she shows up. She has a high motor, good size, and strong Will to get back to her opponent if she gets beat off of the dribble. Not to mention, that she is disciplined and demonstrates on a regular occasion that she works smarter compared to harder. There are going to be a few serious candidates for Miss Nebraska Basketball at the end of this season and Neleigh will be in that conversation with her mixture of ability/tenacity.
